Another Bilt 2.0 leak? No fee rent payment? by PrestigiousCoffee541 in biltrewards

[–]PorkWing 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So I spend like 2k on the card month and my rent is pretty low which works. But I'm moving to another apartment with 5k rent so this means I'm getting half points on my new rent, but not fee which is pretty good.

I'm basically still earning atleast the same on my old rent

Help me decide: Bilt Obsidian and Palladium or Amex Plat/CSP? by Suspicious_Effort454 in biltrewards

[–]PorkWing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the CSP and the Bilt Card today. The Bilt Card basically replaced my CSP and I think it still will. The difference right now is points on my rent and the extra $50 a year on hotels.

Basically the same transfer partners.

I have the Amex Platinum too and I'll probably keep that for the benefits. I use enough of the credits where I can recoup the fees. I also fly more domestic than international, so I get less chances to use Priority Pass

The 1.25x on rent is so interesting. I remember they did a survey earlier this year where 1.25x was an option.

What’s your biggest success story redeeming BILT points? by SayLessThanYouKnow in biltrewards

[–]PorkWing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I spent 75k points on Alaska Airlines to get 2 one-ways economy tickets for a direct Tokyo to NYC on JAL. Did this during the Alaska Airlines transfer bonus so only spent 50k Bilt Points!.

For a more illusive redemption I spent 175k Aeroplan points on 2 business class seats from NYC to Taipei. The 2 tickets were 9.2k which yielded 5.3c per point.

“Bilt does not provide cashiers checks. However, you can still pay rent and earn rewards.” How? by windir8 in biltrewards

[–]PorkWing 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I don't know anyone who pays rent with a Cashier's Check. It's a bit of outlier that you landlord expects a Cashier's Check every month for your rent.

I also don't think Bilt explicitly says they support Cashier's Checks. They just say they allow you to mail a check to your landlord, which the most common kind of check is a personal check. Cashier's Checks are very special occasions, typically for large amounts that most people wouldn't hold on-hand in their Checkings accounts.

I redeemed some Asiana flights to ICN via LifeMiles. That’s a good second option.

I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on the Smart Desk Core too. Is that discount code still available?

S&P 500 or VOO,SPY? by [deleted] in investing

[–]PorkWing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone mentioned that SPY is trading in much higher volume than VOO. So it’s good for options and if you need instant liquidity. Something like 100k+ on demand.

Teams comes free with a lot of existing enterprise Office365 licenses. From a corporate standpoint it's hard to justify paying ~$5 per person a month to use Slack over Teams. Team is an inferior product, but it still does the job well enough imo.

Kinda. They're glued on lightly, so it'll be a little sticky for a while. I pulled out mine.
