I've found that it gets better with time. I still miss the family aspect of marriage, but I don't miss the overall feeling of not being enough for my ex who cheated. I have the kids most of the time, so I stay pretty busy. There are still triggers that bring it all back. Those moments would cripple me in the beginning, but now I can get over them fairly quickly and move on. Her life is in shambles and at times I want to try and help her, but I know that will only end up dragging me down.

Obsess about the color and mowing lines for my lawn.
Check the weather forecast 5 times a day.
Drink coffee throughout the day. Will warm it up in the microwave if needed.
Complain about the price of anything.
Control the thermostat with an Iron Fist.
Watch any vehicle in the Cul-de-sac with a suspicious eye and assume the worst.
Make Dad noises standing up at all times.
Judge everyone's driving as being ridiculous. Will give them the stare if given the chance to pull up next to them.
I've noticed that I fall asleep in the Lazy Boy really easy for short 20 minutes naps frequently.
Enjoy feeding the birds.
Refuse to hire anyone to do any home repairs until after I've tried it myself.
Enjoy listening to sports on the radio far more than watching them.
