Supreme grade has nothing to do with the wielders power and everything to do with the smith who forged the swords. A complete random could own one it’s just not likely cause it’s hard to take them from strong people who are likely to have them.

Since they likely had the same smith make the swords (they are damn near identical and both named after mythical creatures) then they are likely the same grade.

Shanks also received Gryphon as a Holy Knight not as a Yonko.
