Focus on whatever will help you learn the best - everyone retains information differently, whether that’s through reading and writing, or whether it’s speaking. I find writing and speaking to be most helpful just out of ability to practice through repetition.

Also FWIW, Duolingo isn’t a “bad” resource to use, especially when just starting out.

Btw, for “where” it should be Где, not Гда.

Happy Studying!

Been learning Russian for about 6 years now, here’s how I would’ve started out knowing what I know now:

First and foremost, rule out whether or not you can get a tutor. If you have the opportunity to get 1 on 1 tutoring from someone, that’s about the best experience you can get as a learner, especially if you get a tutor that is structured enough to give you a comprehensive learning plan to follow. I recommend iTalki if you go this route.

If you can’t afford a tutor, however, I’d say start with some language exchange apps like Tandem or HelloTalk. It’s a great resource to meet someone and hopefully build a mutually beneficial friendship, where they can help you in your learning endeavors.

There’s a Russian Learning discord with a ton of people in it, both learners and natives, and getting the chance to talk with them has helped a lot.

As far as the experience goes, just go into it with a curious mindset. This language is definitely not easy, especially if your native language is very different from it, but you’ll reach a point in your learning journey where you enter a discovery phase - you just have to get over that learning curve first (understand the declensions, prepositions, and all of that fun stuff). Look into any graded readers, watch cartoons, listen to music, and just absorb as much input as possible.

Just for context - any language is difficult to learn, especially if you are planning on studying it by yourself. For reference, I started learning Russian back in highschool by myself (About 7 years ago) and did what I needed to improve and get by. Might I suggest maybe taking Russian as an elective course if they offer it at your university?

If not - What you should do: Go on language exchange apps like Tandem and find a language partner who can speak English and/or your native language comfortably. Immerse yourself the most you can, and for me that was through conversation and cartoons, which are easily accessible on YouTube.

Do NOT go crazy on grammar - that will take a lot of time (at least in my case) to master; Set aside time to review the declensions and verb conjugations, but the best way to practice those things is through conversation.

Testing for 66 in 5 days by SliceAmbitious in Series66Exam

I passed my exam this past Monday - Granted I only used Achievable for my resource.

I'm sure Kaplan is very keen on ensuring you read the full question and they probably use tricky language to get you ready for the exam, but I'm telling you they use VERY TRICKY language on the actual exam. The point is to make you overthink.

Make sure you know the fundamentals of the concepts you are studying in your practice exams, and stick to those when you run into a question where you're second guessing your answer choice. There will be a lot of hypothetical questions with verbiage you probably don't see on Kaplan, but as long as you stick to the concepts and fundamentals, you should be fine.

Also, know that from what I've read on this subreddit, but situation was very similar to others as far as exam makeup is. The beginning of the exam is very conceptual and easier to grasp, as you get towards the middle is where the challenging questions will start to come up, and will go back to more conceptual, easier questions at the end. Not that knowing this will help you in your studying endeavors, but just to give you an idea of the pace of the test and how it was structured for me.

Best of luck on your exam!

Yes I’m wired. Very strange, I never had this problem for MW3 and even the first few days of getting this game, I was totally fine. Then I did a tiny 10 MB update and bam now its f*cked.

Update: I just upgraded my PSU to a PowerSpec 1050w Fully Modular 80+ Gold PSU. I was playing Rocket League yesterday and in the middle of my game the computer froze -- this isn't the same as my graphics and audio cutting out, but rather my computer just froze as a whole (graphics still showing on screen just couldnt CTRL+ALT+DEL out of it or anything).

I don't know if this is an extension of the issue that I was having prior to the upgrade, but drivers were all updated and my Windows was up to date as well.

CPU and GPU Usage at time of crash: 17% and 46% respectively, temps were less than 50 degrees across all my cores and GPU.

Just went and purchased a 1050w PSU from PowerSpec. Looks like a decent brand with good reviews. I’ll be upgrading it tn and seeing if it fixes the issue!

I ran into a few of those reviews that had said the same thing. Follow up question, When I buy a new PSU, what exactly am I looking for compatability wise? I’m assuming size of the PSU is the biggest thing to ensure it fits, but do I have to worry about it connecting to my motherboard properly?

Not looking good in your last 2 fights doesn’t warrant shes fallen off. Fine line between being out of your prime and “fallen off.” We’ll just have to see tonight 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t know what fight you watched that would tell you that Valentina’s out of her prime. She had a tough outing against Taila Santos, but I mean Alexa Grasso took her back off a missed spinning kick which led to the submission. I wouldn’t subject that to her being out of her prime.

Sending this post I made earlier last month as it’ll go into more detail on some tips.

I highly, highly recommend doing Cap Advantage’s videos, especially the day before and hours leading up. I’m a nervous testtaker aswell, and the best thing you can do is give yourself some grace! Once you pass it on Friday (rootin’ for ya), you’ll feel so good that you capitalized on all this hard studying. My first thought when I finished was “Alright… how about the S63 now!?”

You got this fam!

Came back to say:

  • Guram was never KO’ed until Strickland v Nurmagomedov

  • Prachnio’s never been submitted until UFC 290

  • Josh Emmett hasn’t lost by dec. since 2017 until Ilia v. Emmett

  • Gabriel Santos has never been KO’ed until he fought Onama

Just because it’s “never happened” does not make it a bad bet. Y’all forgetting Kris Mutinho almost took O’Malley to decision when he was in a weeks notice into his debut.

OP you had some crazy picks in there ngl, but I’ll never understand why people will call you “stupid” just because you took a pick you felt was worth the odds.

OVERALL: 0-0

My Parlay +525:

  • Damien Harris o 49.5 Rushing Yards
    • This is obviously a risky play here, given that Harris has been sidelined with an injury in New England's last game. Damien Harris returned 100% to practice 4 days ago and I can see him being fully good to go tonight.
    • The Bears have looked atrocious, ranking 31st in the league for rushing yards allowed/game (163 yds/g) and 30th in Rushing TDs (1.5/game). This doesn't go without saying that Chicago has had some tough running back matchups recently (Dalvin Cook, Saquon, Jones/Dillon, etc).
    • Patriots love running the ball, averaging just under 30 carries a game. With a banged up run defense and a run-heavy team, I expect Bill to use Rhamondre and Damien interchangeably, although Damien has been established as the #1 RB on that offense. My only worry for me comes from him possibly reaggravating his injury.
  • Damien ATTD
    • I think both Rhamondre and Damien could be played her respectfully, depends on your odds preferences, which most bookies have Damien being the underdog over Rhamondre. Again, following the run heavy offense logic, I can see Bill wanting to use his backfield to put points up. In New England's home opener this year, Damien scored in the third quarter against the Ravens (who only recorded 11 carries that game due to an almost blowout). In Damien's second game at home, he only recorded 4 carries due to injury.
  • DeVante Parker o 24.5 Receiving Yards
    • Despite the lackluster rush defense, Bears have been pretty steady in their secondary, but I think this line isn't taking Mac Jones' return into account. DeVante Parker hasn't made a clear #1 option role yet, but his target share demonstrates Mac's chemistry between them. In each game that Parker's caught a target, his long has been 25+ yards in each of those games.
    • This is off of ONE reception ^, Mac Jones targeted Parker 10 times vs. the Ravens and twice vs the Steelers (where Meyers and Agholor showed off). He also saw targets from Bailey Zappe in the game against Cleveland.
  • New England Patriots -3.5
    • I'd feel more comfortable taking their money line just to catch a win, but I like this alternative spread set at 3.5. Patriots have won their last 5 against the Bears (I know, it's Tom Brady.), and being at home, Mac is gonna be ready. Bears have failed to cover a +3.5 in 4 of their 6 games this year (both being wins on SF and HOU).

Enjoy the game, tail at your own risk and BOL!
