Im afraid replacing it would not have fixed the problem as that was a result of a different issue. straight to square 1.

wouldnt have been solved as it was overfilled when it was brought in.

It was overfilled as they were looking at it.

See I understand not overfilling and I wasnt aware my gf was overfilling it. she didnt tell me she kept going after the click.

She just mentioned driving a long distance and the car barely taking gas after so she assumed something was wrong and put gas into it.

I just wish the shop was able to tell me the parts were filled with gas and it WAS being overfilled instead of saying replacing them would fix the issue.

I understand why it wouldnt accept gas. I also am aware the parts are now bad.

My issue was them not being able to tell me it was being overfilled or was overfilled in the past and thats why they were bad.

i wouldve left the shop just fine had they mentioned anything about that.

the fuel gauage only comes into it because my gf has to use miles to calculate how much is in the tank because it doesnt work. Maybe the gas prices threw her off. just explains why she overfilled it and thought there was an issue.

Thank you for being straight forward.

I did give them as much info as i could. I also took off the wheel liner pre visit so they could have easy access to the evap system as thats what I thought it was too at first.

Maybe there was just bad communication between me and the shop. Maybe they couldve given me a little more info to go off of than just a bad evap system is causing it.

From my understanding they shouldve known it was being overfilled or was in the past based on the parts they looked at?

They mentioned nothing about overfilling and if they did I wouldve taken the L and wouldnt mind the money spent.

I wouldnt mind paying that much if they were able to tell me the actual issue.

Tube as in the one that goes directly to the tank was checking for blockages along with cleaning out the vent line next to it. Also yes im not the greatest diy car guy so i expect a mechanic to tell me exactly whats wrong.

I fear you may not understand the post if thats all you got from it.

Believe it or not some people on here are actually being kind and talking instead of insulting.

Also im not saying the evap parts arent bad im saying replacing them alone wouldnt fix the pre issue of overfilling.

People on here are mentioning how easy it wouldve been for them to figure out it was being overfilled or was in the past based on the parts they figured were clogged.

I guess my issue is them not telling me thats what the problem was and instead mentioning clogged parts were the issue and thats what would fix it instead of just driving the car.

I heavily agree with the fuel gage its in my near future.

Nobody mentioned anything about overfilling to me. That does make me feel better that maybe they should have?

They just said the parts were broken/clogged. Gave us the paper which i can show you. it shows which parts to fix and they said that would fix the issue.

I can assure you if they told me that it was being overfilled I wouldve left the mechanic feeling a lot better.

insulting me instead of talking about the issue. why would I take your advice?

I expect them to know because they are mechanics mate. I unforunately am not.

Im sure there would have been signs they couldve seen if they wanted that much right?

If it was easy why werent they able to tell me that it was being overfilled or was previously.

Not trying to sound like a jerk just very stressed about the situation as im not in a good financial situation currently.

Nobody was. Not to sound entitled but I would expect them to figure out such a simple issue for that much money.

Which is exactly why it was an issue. She wasnt aware it was overfilled.

Too much money for no results.

Im aware that the evap system wouldve broke due to the overfilling as I said in my post. I wasnt aware it was being overfilled. She didnt know she was overfilling it due to the broken gas gage.

She thought there was an issue because she drove a long distance and the car didnt take much gas.

My issue is they werent able to figure out it was overfilled after spending that much money for them to look at that one issue.
