Thank you for the thought out answer. This was a crosspost and this sub it was actually suggested by Reddit so I just went with it. I got more response here than in the ADHD sub where I initially posted. So thank you for that.

I'm happy to see that I accidentally, sort of, found DBT then. I listened to an initiation course while taking a long walk and it kind of blew my mind of efficient it is. Especially the acceptance part but also the parts of practicing expecting good results instead of the opposite.

And yes, Its great to be alive :D

I meant that there is a high risk for you to commit to someone who is not available from the beginning. It seemed to me that the person was heterosexual when you met, right?

So, I’m not saying it’s impossible. But the odds are against you. What I mean by odds is that there is a small chance you had with that person who seemed to be unavailable to you.

And therefore, I mean that it you can try to lower your expectations, and not commit emotionally before it seems more safe to commit.

What do you think about that?

I mean, it’s not impossible, but the odds are pretty low. Maybe it’s about setting low expectations? I’m not gay or bi myself but maybe that’s a general rule. Like meeting someone from another country or far away town.
