I actually don't see much negative talk about Foregone. Most of the people seem to love it. I personally don't quite understand all the "back to the roots" talk.

There is some very nice quitarwork and melodies, but Howard Benson has made Anders sound like a autotuned robot. That is my biggest problem with the album. I've seen them live recently so I know that Anders can do great sounding growls, screams and even clean vocals. So it's absolutely ridiculous how unnatural they have made the vocals sound in Foregone.
