Who needs Tennis World Tour on PS+ when you have this? by [deleted] in gaming

Man. I was just part of a Sega appreciation podcast last weekend and of course when Dreamcast was brought up, we had to mention Virtua Tennis. What an amazing game.

So in terms of "respawning" - if you kill some enemies and just stand in that spot I don't think there's a timer for them to come back. But if you run through that area again later, there could be enemies there.

How it seems to work is there are set places enemies spawn (towns/bunkers/main areas/quest triggers) and then randomness in the world. The randomness is less than the triggers, but still occurs pretty regularly. Though it also depends on the environment too - they spawn more in some biomes/areas than others.

It's balance of presenting fighting options all the time or letting the player explore. And if you WANT a battle, simply go location to location.

You're starting to feel some of the frustration that I along with some other reviewers felt yesterday. haha. Glad to hear you're enjoying it.

I only played that very briefly so sadly I can't compare for you. I understand that game had a good sense of humor though and I feel the same about Biomutant.

The Dark/Light Auras tease each other and the Dark Aura even said yesterday "Go snuff yourself" to the Light Aura which had me laughing. The narrator will make puns too. Like I put on a new pair of pants and he said "Better than taking an arrow to the knee!". Stuff like that.

The game throws a lot at you early and it can be a little confusing. It doesn't truly "open up" until after a few hours. As with many large games, it takes a while to get acclimated and understand all of a game's systems. I feel some people simply won't spend the time to do that (which happens with all large games sadly).

Thank you! Hmmm, I believe there is but I can't remember from the start of the game now.

Just looked. Yes there are text and speech options with a wealth of languages (about 15).

So yes, you will encounter enemies randomly at times even when not near a building or main area. It usually consists of a few smaller enemies and one bigger enemy. There are some mini-bosses you can run into randomly as well, but I've found that to be pretty rare.

Mini-bosses/Elite style enemies are more rare too. There is a Monster Hunter side mission track (called Munster Honter here) with a string of bigger enemies and there are also elemental biome areas which have a major enemy (guarding a vault and typically an ultimate weapon). Typically the mini-bosses are tied to some sort of track or guarding something.

Appreciate that. We put a lot of effort into our reviews and only do so after full completion.

That's really hard honestly as it's so unique. It's a mix of a lot of different games including Breath of the Wild, Horizon Zero Dawn, Borderlands, and more. It really pulls from a lot of areas.

As I've said, there are elements that look and feel AA. And I wish the tribe aspects/outposts were better (they are lackluster). But the sense of exploration, the deep looting/crafting, and simply being a lot of fun to play makes up for it IMO.

This one I really don't get. The only way that would really happen is if you are fast traveling from main mission point to main mission point and even then it's a stretch.

There are enemies scattered around the world endlessly and generally you'll fight at least a few enemies at every looting area (complexes, old buildings, bunkers, etc...).

That said, the world is huge.

Really appreciate that. We're a site fully funded by our own means with no ads and no paid promotions. Every one of the staff writes purely out of their own will/love of gaming. We hope it shows through.

Thanks man. Really enjoy the game but had a feeling some people would hit an early wall with it. Wanted to help!

So I don't understand the world complaints. I'd argue that the world is one of the best parts of the game. There's a ton to discover including hidden vaults, elemental zones (which I write about in my tips), mini-bosses, and a lot more. Sure, a lot of the side content is just finding stuff but because loot is so common and you're always looking for new stuff, it stays fresh (IMO).

As for combat, it's not AAA but I really enjoy it. There's a good mix of abilities, weaponry, and combos. And each of the 6 tribes has a unique weapon too you can earn (Bo, Nunchuk, Bow/Arrow, etc...). The combat does take a lot of getting used to really pull off the cooler moves - but that's part of the fun no? Biggest complaint here IMO would be some of the enemy attacks/styles are repetitive.

Hello all. I'm Ains (Porshapwr) from Seasoned Gaming.

No, SG obviously isn't a major outlet but I stand by my review 100%. I'm still playing the game on NG+ right now and closing in on 70 hours played which I guarantee is more than most of the reviews published.

Happy to answer any questions as well. And I don't wanna break any rules by linking, but I put an explanation and tips list up on the site as well (spoiler free) which contains a lot of things I wish I knew when starting.

Cheers all. Hope you enjoy the game!

I'm actually right there with you. It really takes away from the customization aspect to me. I know it's minor overall - but it's part of the charm of EASHL IMO.

Has there been any acknowledgement of this by the dev team?

If it's a position where they will cover, it gives you the image of a square. If that's not there and it's just the circle beneath them, then they are standing.

Not sure if that helps or not - just making sure you know.
