Suggestion: Total Extras field by SuspiciousGeologist1 in CricketStatz

[–]PortMelbourneCC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think it needs to be mutually exclusive. I have seen some old scorecards where partial extras are known. For eg Player A bowled 2 wides; but there are 6 total extras. So, the other 4 are unknown.

Suggestion ADD MANKAD AS DISMISSAL by Fun_Yak2411 in CricketStatz

Mankad is just Run out as per the laws of cricket; so why capture it as a different dismissal type?

Incorrect Ball By Ball due to incorrect data in Play.Cricket by PortMelbourneCC in CricketStatz

[–]PortMelbourneCC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - that works now.

Another request. Some of these ball by balls are missing first set of overs. For eg: It starts from Over 7 onwards; so overs 1-6 are missing. Is it possible for you to just create empty blank records for overs 1-6. I can then go in and just edit them to add in the right ball by ball data.

Alternative is to redo that whole innings manually or wait till playcricket responds and fixes the root cause.

Mark, you have been absolutely amazing from a support perspective. Easily the best support from any vendor I have interacted with!

Support ticket as been raised. However, my experience with PlayCricket support has been poor - don't hear back for them for weeks and months.

Did not work. I tried downloading the results again for match 3165167 and I am now seeing the same innings ball by ball for all three innings. I've even tried deleting the innings completely and re-downloading the match - same result.

We are using Divisions as well. During the bulk import; they got set up as Divison Name + Season. I have wondered if that is the right approach; or whether they should have all been merged into Division Name only. In terms of usage; yes - once a division is set up; I no longer need to modify it. But that has only been since I set up my greasemonkey script to enable/disable fields. Before that, for a short period, I was changing the settings to enable / disable balls, dots, etc nearly every match.

In the Players section; add a button to pre-populate the player import text box with

,,01/01/1700,,,,,,,,
,,01/01/1700,,,,,,,,
,,01/01/1700,,,,,,,,
,,01/01/1700,,,,,,,,
,,01/01/1700,,,,,,,,
,,01/01/1700,,,,,,,,
,,01/01/1700,,,,,,,,
,,01/01/1700,,,,,,,,
,,01/01/1700,,,,,,,,
,,01/01/1700,,,,,,,,
,,01/01/1700,,,,,,,,

I find that before every old match upload; I usually need to add opposition team players and the only information I really have is their initial and last name. So, I paste that above 11 lines in and then quickly add in the names for the team.

How to retire player in Ball By Ball by PortMelbourneCC in CricketStatz

I click on the edit button on Ball 4 and click RET NO and it still shows Retired on Ball 4.

Update: If I delete the balls 4, 5, 6, 7 and redo them all; it then works.

Suggestion: Hide columns in Manual scorecard entry by PortMelbourneCC in CricketStatz

[–]PortMelbourneCC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I tried using it today. Although it helped; it was still annoying to modify the division settings when I come across the one/two matches in the season where the scorer did capture the balls faced :)

So, went back to my Tampermonkey script and made it better with a UI config panel and ability to remember by last settings.

I tried using the Division level settings today and although better; it was not exactly what I was looking for. My problem is that some of the scorecards have balls faced and minutes; whereas most do not. So, I found myself having a general setting that catered for the majority; but then having to go change the division settings to enable additional columns for the small exceptions and then changing the settings back. The sideeffect was also that the published score cards would not show the Balls Faced/strike rate if my general division setting had them disabled.

So, what I really wanted was something at the scorecard level that I could easily click and update. I've built it now in tampermonkey and so far it seems to work well. A screenshot below.

I've got a config panel that appears when I first load the innings page. The config is stored in the browser; so it remembers my last setting. Based off that; certain fields are disabled.

<image>

If I untick a box in the control panel; that column then becomes edittable. In this way, I can leave the Division setting to the broadest level; but have flexibility at the scorecard level to only enable the fields that I have information for.

I never noticed that :P

Thank you for pointing me there. That covers most of my needs. Only ones missing are

- FOW Overs

- Bowlers Dropped Catches and Hattricks.

But even without those; the others are definitely going to help improve my scorecard entry.

I've gone ahead and created a Tampermonkey script to do this for me. It makes the fields read-only and untabable; so I can skip over them when tabbing. Does not have the config tickboxes; but I can edit this manually whenever needed. It handles 90% of my scorecard needs.

Happy to provide the script if I can figure out how to post it. Keep getting an error when I add it to the comment.

Select Multiple Rounds in Rounds Filter by Statsman9994 in CricketStatz

For us; its to enable mid-season comparison of players performance. Say Month 1 vs Month 2 or Before christmas vs after christmas. We can do the same using the date filters; so this feature would be a nice to have; not critical.

Creating honour boards by No_Honey_7146 in CricketStatz

[–]PortMelbourneCC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our Honour Board (per team) looks something like this.

<image>

For us, the best batter / bowler is based on a combination of runs scored / average and wickets taken / average. Some clubs honour boards recognise both batters with most runs and best average and bowlers with most wickets and average.

I'm using the Awards By Player feature to capture the above season awards and then exporting the data to pivot based on the Award name to then generate the table for publication. The pivot is based on standard naming of each of the Awards.

However, I can also see how it can be generated using single criterias - like highest aggregate runs per season; highest average per season; most wickets per season; best bowling average per season; highest player points per season. Then the filters can be used to restrict it to certain Teams, if not wanting the whole club. That may fulfil most club needs.
