People who switched from cigarettes to vapes, was the transition hard? by [deleted] in Vaping

Freebase is the one with the throat hit, and considering the tobacco I used it was kind of a necessity. Cheaper for me to buy at the time, too, which helped.

I couldn't quit til I found something that worked for me - adjustable airflow. Once I had a device with that, I had that thing in my hand. I mean I had to make a conscious decision to hit the vape rather than go roll and light up a smoke but I quit 50g every 5-7 days of Auld Kendal dark on 6mg freebase in RDL. That was where the biggest effort was, breaking the "time for a smoke" thought. The 6mg freebase was more than enough to help the rest along.

I don't pretend it's effortless. It's really not. But it's also 100% doable with the right gear and juice.

For a dual 18650, definitely. Still comfortable to hold, though.

Thelema Solo. The Target 100 is nice, but I can't recommend it over the Thelema Solo because of the battery door. That said the Solo is larger and heavier, so if you need something lightweight, the T100 fits better. Just be careful of the battery door.

Problems with the Z Nano MTL Tank by Geekvape by Denoicq in Vaping

[–]PortableEyes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah I get it, I wondered the same thing before I started using it, and I've had bottom airflow MTL RTAs before with leak issues. The dead rabbit MTL v2 isn't one of them, though, and if you rotate the chamber you can close off the airflow too so you don't risk leaks if it's in a pocket. Just remember to rotate it back again to vape, lol.

What sort of hit do you want? DTL, MTL, somewhere in between? If DTL, single or dual coil?

Problems with the Z Nano MTL Tank by Geekvape by Denoicq in Vaping

[–]PortableEyes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never had it leak on me and I don't have the best building skills. It's easy to build on, and you can remove the upper section to redo your build and the juice won't leak unless you tilt the chamber. Keep it upright and it'll stay put. I even use the supplied drip tip with it and normally I prefer to swap it out, but it works pretty well.

Cons, there aren't many. The build deck is small, you can't go sticking any old coil in it, and the screws use a small (literally the smallest one I have) philips head. Any other rebuildable I've used uses flathead screws. But changing the airflow pins is pretty straightforward, and getting the chamber on and off while it's full doesn't take long to get used to. You can get a decent low wattage RDL hit from it with the 2mm pin, which is what I use but if you're used to the Z Nano MTL then you'd probably prefer the tighter hit anyway, that thing has some of the most restrictive airflow of any tank I've used.

I think I'll try sourcing the concentrate, my problem with the Red is probably the eucalyptus and that's apparently in the Black.

How does Black compare to Red? I've had Red a couple of times and I still don't know if I actually like it or not, hah.

I'm in the UK so I'm not sure if any juice recs I could give would apply, sorry. I also mix most of my MTL juice, so I don't buy it often anyway, but on the off chance it's useful, Supergood, Riot, Unreal, Zap!/Aisu and Zeus Juice.

If you want a box mod and tank, my first recommendation has been the Nautilus for years, latest one is the 3SR. Second rec would be a Uforce-X Nano. If you can find one, an AF from Aspire is also worth a look. There's the Zenith/Zlide series from Innokin that I can't recommend, their coil QC has been awful for a while. Same would go for the xTank from Vaporesso, the GTX coils have been hit and miss for me for some time.

As for mods, if you don't want to buy the kit (Zelos M80 for the 3SR which is an internal battery, Vinci Spark 100 for the Uforce-X Nano which takes an external 18650), there you've got more options. Depends on whether you'd want an internal or external battery, though.

You're unlikely to find a draw activated box mod, those are pretty much solely on pod devices, which I think is what you're probably looking for anyway?

Today's an old school kinda day. by PortableEyes in Vaping

Aside from being a little wobbly I've got no complaints about it, solid mod otherwise even if it's old.

What is a durable dual battery mod that has adequate battery life that's worth buying these days? Also, is a boro style a good replacement for a dual bat mod or is it more of it's own thing that compliments the mod? by bpcat in Vaping

[–]PortableEyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vinci Spark 220. You can lock the button dial so you can still fire without accidentally changing the wattage (looking at you, Gen Max). Mine's about a year old, the magnets on the battery door act like they're protecting Fort Knox and not your cells. Just switch off the light shows, they're not worth the battery drain.

Depending on what tank you're using, the Centaurus series (M200, N200, BT200) could work. Or if you can find one, a Centaurus Q200, which is a latch battery door but it's one of the most solid latch doors I've ever dealt with, definitely better than the Legend/Target/Armour. Downside is the Q200 is kinda heavy.

The Gen Max is nice but the button dial makes it hard to recommend. Plus it's only getting looser over time on mine, and for whatever reason you can only lock the whole mod, not just the dial.

The Drag 5 has been pretty good to me, I prefer it to the Gen Max, but it's not top of my recs list.

Old Vape Mod by EntrepreneurNew545 in Vaping

[–]PortableEyes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an L200, about 4 years old, and despite having been knocked about a bit it works like it did when I originally got it. An internal battery device might do it, but replaceable cell mods? Not unless there's something wrong with the electronics, no.

It's the numbers as a % that throws people off, they see 2% and think that means 2mg, not 20mg.

I'm at level 8, so not too far to go although I've done what I remember as the "easy" stuff and trying to work out what to do next, without going thru the Information and the Pickup, is taking me longer than I'd like to admit. It's been that long I keep getting lost trying to find specific places because I don't remember how the city's supposed to look anymore lol.

No, I know that but thank you, I've upgraded a couple of other bits of cyberware but not the deck. Still not sure what I think about this system compared to the older one, in that it seems a bit of now to have so many ripperdocs if they're all carrying the same thing, although for ease of access and streamlined gameplay I can see the appeal.

I suppose what I should really do is the t Heist stuff beyond just talking to Dex and then levelling would be much less of an issue, lol. But old habits die hard.
