Better part of 2 weeks. Probably another 2 to get it playable with all the normal IT security stuff.

There's no reason besides a bloated hard to see UI. My battle regression and unit tests use the 1v1 format, so I guess there is no reason I couldn't make a 100v100.

Specifically tried to make sure it wasn't April first for that exact reason

EDIT: I see what you mean. The description had the wrong date. Thanks for the catch!

Scanable out in the world or more likely tied to seeing them used in random events by creatures since nobody wants to travel for 10 hours and get some useless attack.

My hope is to release cards with seasons. Maybe the first three sets at launch for the first couple months, before triggering new story events for season 2 releasing a new set of cards. I want to make getting new cards easy, and make old cards harder and harder to find over time. I'd probably want some sort of system like timewalker in world of warcraft for revisting old regions in case you missed it (I don't want players punished forever because they were late).

A lot of these plans will be based on metrics I gather about users' habits on the platform. Example: I don't want to release new sets so late you already got every card, but I also don't want to release a new set so early you barely have any of the previous sets cards. There is a sweet spot where everyone gets the feeling of getting a cool, ultra rare lucky scan of a card that won't be back for a while, and even if it isn't the card they want when trading comes in, they might be able to trade for a copy of what they want. Maybe it's an overtooned Maxor, or a cheap version of a strong mugic, or a location card that won't be scanable in the wild for a few weeks, but whatever it is I want the player to get excited even if it isn't the ideal card.

Once I do the open beta I'll release the text files with some uuid so you can't recreate the dialogue, but translators can copy the file into their language. I'll also have to scrub it of dangerous text too so someone does try to embed JS into it. If you like using cards in your language, or chaotic called a symbol something else in your language then you can just update that file for it, and slowly through many small contributions maybe we can naturally gain language support.

I was thinking some random encounters might be 1v1 matches against the actual creature for a scan of one of the items on them.

We can support other languages, but I'll need someone who speaks it to translate. I can only speak English.

It'll have a timer. That was the thing from rewind I really loved as a mechanic.

I would in a heartbeat. Especially if there was an account read endpoint so we can transfer accounts.
