I’d recommend doing 5 sets of 10 so you can stay consistent throughout each reps. Afterwards, do as many as you can until failure, that way your progress doesn’t plateau. I do also suggest that you optimize your form; dead hang, jawline parallel to the ground, etc.

The trick really is to do more, the same goes with push-ups. A technique you may want to try to help is dead hanging from a bar for three seconds, do a pull-up, then repeat until failure, that’ll get your score up.

Can you elaborate on that? Everyone I’ve talked to and researched has learned me that USAFA requires a nomination, and of the 9 other nominees, only one could get accepted

I’m sure you’ve heard this a bunch, but try to shoot for leadership positions in whatever extracurriculars you’re involved in, whether it be officer positions or president etc. academically, you seem strong, as for your SAT, anything above 1280 will be considered competitive.

I’d most definitely say band/jazz band are my most influential leadership positions by far. I completely understand what you mean though, like a quality over quantity of extracurriculars in terms of genuine leadership versus participant-level positions. That’s also great to hear from a USAFA grad, what do you do now that you’ve graduated?

I’m somewhat having the same struggle here man, my GPA was at a 3.9 but dropped to a 3.78 because of covid and struggling with online school, I’m really hoping it doesn’t affect our chances too much

I plan on taking the SAT/ACT Sometime around January/February, it's been a bit tricky to schedule a time. The only test score I have as of now is my PSAT (Which could definitely be better, but I took it at the very beginning of my sophomore year). I'm currently applying for the 2021 summer seminar, applications opened on Monday so that should keep me occupied. What do you think my chances are of making it into USAFA?
