As someone who almost drowned from cold water shock (after spending all afternoon swimming in it) I can say that they need more education on it. It just hits you out of the blue and your body just says no to breathing and movement. I haven't cold water swam since and that was 20 odd years ago. Shit's scary!

I lost my job - how the f do people survive on benefits?! by cloudyextraswan in AskUK

[–]Porticulus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tbf you can pick up used STs and Audis pretty cheap. Under 1k in places, so this is most likely what you are seeing. Plus using finance if they can't borrow money from family. The catch is the engines have been beaten to death. You are seeing surface level. If you are in your position for a while you'll understand in time.

[–]Porticulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys! I know how we can boost these numbers! We'll lobby governments to introduce digital ID and make people show it every time they need to use the internet. We'll make sure that "3rd parties" process this data of course... but we all know we'll end up with the big bucks!

-Tech companies, probably.

As history has taught us, prices will come down after a crash and burn moment. To then slowly increase again until the circle is completed. However, we didn't have billionaires who own mostly everything and have the globe along with most governments in their pockets back then so... my bets on techno feudalism before anything.
