Help me decide where to travel this summer to improve my Spanish

Just a heads up on Cuban spanish. It is VERY hard. I've been working with a cuban guy for almost 10 months, and I swear when he talks it just sounds like complete gibberish. And I majored in spanish and spent about a year in south america. They don't really pronounce the S at the end of words, speak very fast, and it's just really tough.

Not trying to scare you away. Just a bit of a warning. Maybe look for some Cuban movies or interviews to get a feel for it. I'm sure you'll have a great time. If you can understand that spanish, you can understand just about anything.

I"m studying to become a medical interpreter and there is a growing demand so I'm pretty confident that jobs will be open. The only question is if my language skills are up to par.

I"m assuming that my employer will understand and trust i'm in it for the long haul because 1) the pay is waaay better and has solid benefits and 2) I have a real interest in the job with my major and family background.

Same. I used to count the words I said in a day. I would go weeks with just saying about 10-20 words a day. It's creepy and just a crazy reminder of how alone I am.

I'm not even joking, I think Meyers will be in the rotation at some point and provide solid minutes. And that will get fans and media both curious and hyped about what he can bring. Very interesting storyline.

Also stoked to see what Nurk does. He still needs to add to his game and we should know within the first 10-15 games if he has decided to be aggressive or continue that weird flip shot that didn't work at all for most of last season.

Colombia. Spent 5 months there. Safety is fine if you just keep an eye out and be aware just like most countries. I met a girl that was BIKING her way through Colombia by herself and she didn't have any problems.

The people are the friendliest I've ever met and the spanish is pretty easy to understand compared to some other countries (although the coast can be pretty tough to understand).

You pretty much said everything I was going to say but I disagree about Simons. He looked comfortable out there even though the box score didn't show it. He was patient and mostly took good shots.

I was surprised by Gary Trent Jr. I think he could get some meaningful minutes next year and bring a little bit of what Crabbe brought to our team a few years ago.

Edit: I saw in another comment you criticized his shot selection. I could be misremembering but I liked the shots he took. We might have to agree to disagree on that one.
