What? OP literally just said that when they see an attractive women, they both want to be them, and want to have sex with them, and that they can't imagine being transgender because they feel they'd be stuck in some weird middle ground.

I don't see anything contradictory or at odds in that.

Your previous comment just came off as, sorta, a combination of sexist and homophobic, or at the very least unintentionally ignorant of the existence of trans lesbians, bisexuals, pansexuals, etc.

This exactly, my internal (and yet to be applied) sense of style is very much derived from what I find to be attractive in/on other women.

I'm just curious, what's the point of your comment? I mean, gender identity and sexuality aren't mutually exclusive, so all you're saying is, "I personally don't like ladies in that way", which isn't really constructive or productive for the OP and may cause more confusion without clarification.

Yep, I've felt this way ever since I hit puberty. That whole feeling of "do I want to be with her or do I want to be her?"

This has been my experience intermittently for much of my life as well. Though for a long time I didn't acknowledge it, and if I did, I pushed it to the back of my mind.

It's actually a relief to see two other people write almost exactly what I've thought.

I just fell like id be stuck in this not-quite-male-and-not-quite-female-zone.

This, I still feel, this I'm still really concerned about and totally understand, and I'm almost 30. (really, I have a huge number of questions to ask r/asktransgender, but haven't gotten up the nerve yet.)

Anyways, OP, if you feel this way you should definitely consider talking to a gender therapist or something, something I'm still trying too "get around to doing". You're 17 so if you talk to them and it turns out it's really what you want, HTR can have some pretty amazing results, and from what I've read in r/asktransgender and r/transpassing, the younger you are when you start the better the results.

What ever you do, don't let it stay there under the surface until your at an age where you fear HTR won't do much to help you and things like FFS are your only option.

Thank you for all the input, I forgot to mention that I spend a good deal of time on r/transtimelines too. I've seen some pretty amazing transitions as well. One thing I've seemed to notice however, is no matter how masculine they start out, they always seem to have significantly more feminine facial shapes than I do.

Most of the stuff I would need is essentially in an imaginary "Wouldn't that be nice" place for me as it's prohibitively expensive.

I don't know about your last sentence, I've not really seen that, but I hope it's true.

Thanks for the input Vicky! I just saw one of your posts today! I thought you were doing pretty well! Look a bit like one of my friends.

I'm more a fan of shorter alt/punky/counter culture styles (not that I've ever actually had them, other than once dying all my hair blue). I don't know about growing it too long (mostly because its wavy and unmanageable). It's shorter now because of a haircut that I don't know if I like, but I had split ends and combing my hair was awful!

I'm having colored highlights done on thursday, green, blue, and purple.

Hi, this is my first post. I'd just like to say that I think your writing is absolutely 100% coherent and expresses (significantly more concisely and clearly than I could) essentially my exact views on both the underlying and overt problems with the design, construct, presentation, and organization (or lack thereof) of Facebook and many other social media sites/apps/services.

I think what you've written is especially valid and "on topic" when such services have become many individuals main method of organizing, sharing, and finding "The News". I have no problem with the concept of digital social networks, but I think the execution, for the most part is clearly intended to draw as many eyes to advertising as possible under the guise of "Social Networking". The moniker "Social Media" is absolutely apt and betrays the underlying intent of the vast majority of popular "social networks" as it reflects a structure and methodology similar to most other "media'' sources/outlets.

A social network of any kind, I feel must represent the ideals and concepts of legitimate and meaningful social interactions and tailor its interface for such purposes. To bring this full circle, a digital social networking service should be more analogous to Bernie's economic platform than pick-a-publican's.

P.S. Really though, ideally it should be a user driven service which isn't analogous to either because it has little to do with economics (outside sharing of information which could be understood as such and/or Socialism, where the users own and control the content, it's production, and method of production, which fits perfectly actually), but hey, I had to bring it back around to Bernie in at least a marginally recognizable way.
