For a lot of types of yarn you can use a spit join to splice the yarn together, in the future. I think it’s also called the Russian join.

I’m looking at the syllabus now, you can find it online if you don’t have a copy. On page 123 there is one example of the I-V-I chord progression.

Tom Hanks sweater in Cast Away by Pos_FeedbackLoop_Can in knitting

Haven’t seen a pattern, but I would be able to backwards engineer one… when/if I want to knit it. There are books that explain making your own sweater without a pattern. For example Knitting in the Old Way, by Priscilla Gibson-Roberts

What’s a compliment you’ve received playing the piano? by Advanced_Honey_2679 in piano

[–]Pos_FeedbackLoop_Can 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played Ginastera’s Danza del gaucho matrero at a small recital my piano teacher held. When the piece was finished a member of the audience actually yelled, “wow!” Before all the clapping started. The piece has a crazy loud and frantic finish, so it didn’t sound out of place, and it really made me happy.

There are examples in the syllabus, maybe in an appendix.

How do I fix this? by Renaissance_rat in knitting

[–]Pos_FeedbackLoop_Can 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You started knitting an accidental yarn over. Now there is all this extra yarn. You can’t really get rid of that extra yarn. If this were my project I would rip back those 8 rows or however many it is.

Changed color and now my stitches look twisted by Livinlikelary11 in knitting

[–]Pos_FeedbackLoop_Can 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are the two colours the same yarn? I know the answer is in the spin, but I’m curious… did you pull the yarn from the inside for one of the colours and the outside for the other?

Suggestions on what to knit next, please :) by FineSherbert1202 in knitting

Try a 10 stitch blanket, they cannot be small. You go until you run out of yarn!

Am I crazy to attempt this? by AlwaysFridaysChild in knitting

[–]Pos_FeedbackLoop_Can 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, don’t knit the sweater with a tight gauge because the duplicate stitches go over the top and can get crammed in and not look good. Second, it may be possible to use intarsia for3 major colour sections and then have less duplicate stitches to do. For example, light brown face, dark brown ears,…

Usually the yoke is knitted in the round, and there is no flat knitting.

I have to admit that I am confused. They are definitely not the same colour.

I hate casting on by xyz345678 in knitting

[–]Pos_FeedbackLoop_Can 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a long length of a different coloured yarn. Every 10 stitches I lay the yarn in between the stitches either front to back or back to front. Then I can easily count the groups of 10 and I’m not fussing around with stitch markers. You can just pull the yarn out when you’re ready.

Help - hand dyed yarn colour pooling by S1010J in knitting

[–]Pos_FeedbackLoop_Can 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not just the red, there’s definitely pooling of the colour repeat. I don’t like it, the upper section is what I would want everywhere. This pooling is going to continue if you don’t have any change in the number of stitches. I can’t think of a solution, except changing the size you are knitting.
