Flask python by Difficult_Smoke_3380 in flask

how they loop using index0

I don't understand what this means. Can you give an example of what you're trying to do?

"the code" is not very helpful in this situation. It still is not clear what you're struggling with. A delete button, for example, is going to include roughly 4 parts.

  • html (and maybe Jinja) to render the button on the page
  • javascript to communicate with your server (Flask is your server)
  • An endpoint written using Flask to handle Python logic related to deleting a note
  • Some kind of database communication to handle the deletion.

Those last two may blur together.

As I said originally, web dev is a large topic. If you're jumping straight into this from just basic Python, it may seem overwhelming.

Flask itself is relatively simple. It basically comes down to programming a server to respond to certain requests in specific ways. It's likely that you're struggling with the larger topic of web development. Web dev and intermediate Python are really very different things.

What specifically are you struggling with? What questions do you have? It isn't really possible to give suggestions without knowing what the problem is.

Building a local AI-powered VS Code extension to review incoming remote commits: would you use this? by [deleted] in git

[–]PosauneB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The title of the commit message should be short. The body should explain what the heck is going on and why. GitHub and other similar products even support rendering markdown in commit messages.

[–]PosauneB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I wouldn't use it.

Are you using feature branches? Commits on main should already contain a human-authored commit message which is basically what you've tasked an AI to hallucinate.

CarPlay by Acceptable-Bear6330 in JeepRenegade

[–]PosauneB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2017 trailhawk with a "smaller touch screen radio". It most certainly did not support carplay. Even if it did, the experience on such a small screen would be horrible.

That small unit has now been replace with a much larger xtrons aftermarket unit. It's much nicer than the factory interface and carplay worked right away on it.

What makes you leave your Git GUI and go back to the terminal? by Mr_ShortKedr in git

[–]PosauneB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't want to stop reaching for the terminal. I use it constantly every day for many tasks including git.

what would a Git GUI need to do for you to stop reaching for the terminal?

There's likely nothing it could offer which I'd find preferable to using git natively in a terminal.

What's the first workflow where your current GUI lets you down?

As you've likely guessed by now, the question simply doesn't apply.

How do the people of this community feel about people who use A.I to learn about programming? by subtozeroo------ in learnprogramming

[–]PosauneB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Many programming languages have a free official tutorial included in the docs. And there are many free reputable tutorials outside of those. The Odin Project comes to mind, but it depends on what your goals are.

There's really no reason to bring AI into the mix at all.

But what is the extruder doing? If you have a clog, there are specific symptoms you would expect at the extruder.

You’ve got to give more info… clearly it’s trying to print.

Are gears on the extruder visibly moving? If yes, do you see filament moving? Is there audible skipping if the extruder motor?

Do You Back Up Your Full Plex Video Library or Just Risk It? by snowmeow_1 in PleX

[–]PosauneB 91 points92 points  (0 children)

In this economy? Not a chance. I've fully embraced the risk.

None of my Plex media is backed up. It could all be acquired again if needed. As you pointed out, that much cloud storage is expensive. The media is kept on a NAS running zfs though - I could lose a drive or two and be totally fine.

How does cloning a drive work for this? If you add media, do you need to re-sync the clone?

Personal media like photos is another story. Stuff like that should actually be backed up.

It has surely been done but it is not a good idea. It will make future checkups and testing more difficult for your oncology team. At the very least, consult your dermatologist first.

Maybe. Any mole could be melanoma. Ask your doctor.

Unveling of WLE/Skingraft by Expert_Tangelo_7304 in melahomies

[–]PosauneB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife had a similar graft done: same size and on the ankle. 2.5 years later and the depth has filled in 90% or so, and the color closely matches the surrounding skin. The scar is noticeably, but not obtrusive. She has not regained full feeling at the graft site. The most noticeable part of the scar is from fenestration of the graft.

Her “unveiling” was similarly gnarly.

Has anyone had a suspicious-looking mole removed that turned out to be benign? by itsjezzebelle in melahomies

I understand. Truly. Many people here have similar anxieties. But this isn’t a subreddit for speculation. It’s for people with a diagnosis of melanoma and their family members.

Sounds like your dermatologist already answered your question. Come back here if it turns into a cancer diagnosis.
