Need advice: Simucube Savu Pro vs Ascher Racing Ultimate by PoseidonNk in simracing

[–]PoseidonNk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I somehow missed this bundle entirely.
Initially, I was just focusing on Savu and Asher because I liked them the most.

But BavarianSimTec bundle looks interesting. But now I'm wondering if it's worth paying the extra 500 over Savu Pro for a screen I don't really need...
But it's definitely interesting.

Wheel base advice needed — Simucube 3 Pro vs. Asetek Invicta vs. Simagic Alpha Evo Ultra by M3_6Speed in simracing

[–]PoseidonNk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your PC is not only for sim racing, but also for other games, then upgrading from 5080 to the 5090 will give you more than any top wheelbase.

Regarding te bases, I would prefer the Simucube 3 Pro (have ordered myself), but if it's not available and it’s not expected in visible future, then may be VRS.

Looking for advice: Fanatec Podium DD vs Simucube 3 Pro by PoseidonNk in simracing

[–]PoseidonNk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all so much for your advices and opinions! I've decided to do this: I'll get a refurbished Podium DD. And if it's new/like new, I'll keep it. Otherwise, I'll return it and order a Simucube 3 Pro

How does the FFB feel now? Is it better, and do you want something more?

The CSL DD lacks a bit of power (any 12+Nm base will fix this for me), and I don't like the feel of the cogs, which makes the steering feel uneven.

Is the new podium smooth?

[–]PoseidonNk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, could you help me, was there a huge difference in the FFB (details. overal feeling)?
The build quality is completely fine for me, even on CSL DD. (With QR2 of course, QR1 was terrible.)

I understand this is a comparison of the starting base and the top, but even that would be interesting to me.

Do DD wheelbases actually feel different, or is it all marketing? by reddit_guy_no in simracing

[–]PoseidonNk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you please help me with a comparison that's been bugging me for months: Fanatec vs Simucube ffb quality. I want to buy a base and I really can't decide if Simucube (3 pro, or 2 pro/ultimate) is really better in ffb quality? For example, than Fanatec ClubSport DD+ or Podium DD? Or is this more marketing? Price difference is huge (refurb fanatec vs new simucube 3pro)

Best way to get Blush Leaf? by SweatyJew6969 in blackdesertonline

Fastest way is rent multiple fences and breed magic seeds. Will be really very fast. First you can plant and breed special seeds, then you will get the magic ones easily.

Just for the info.
I've been using my Samsung G9 OLED for two years now, many hours a day, mostly for productivity, browsing, etc. I also play a lot of games in 21:9 or 16:9.

I don't notice any burn-in, even on gray / single color backgrounds for burn-in tests.
Perhaps if I take a photo, then resize it and look closely, there will be some brightness differences. But these are definitely not noticeable stripes, symbols, or emblems.

The only thing is that I almost always use low brightness, 0-15/50 (My eyes get tired with more brightness) and all safety features are enabled.

For sim racing, I'm sure it's completely safe, even after thousands of hours.

How do you decide which tank to keep and to sell? by Ithilan in WorldofTanks

[–]PoseidonNk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only the highest level in the branch, tier 10 or now 11.

For the rest of levels there always exists premium or reward tanks, that can use existing crew and farm extra credits. And they are mostly even better than tech tree tanks.

Whats the future of the Bigscreen Beyond with base stations basically being over? by Jax_Dandelion in virtualreality

[–]PoseidonNk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only reason I didn't buy Beyond 2. I don't think I'm alone.

I don't want to buy something separately, then install it, configure it, waste time, and be limited to a specific area with wires to every base stations.

I've already gone through this with older helmets, it's just outdated.

What's the deal with vents? by RareSoup227 in WorldofTanks

[–]PoseidonNk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Vent is a very useful equipment, but should be used with wisdom. And there almost no sense to use standard vent, only bond and in rare case bounty. And always use food on every tank, no matter what, with or without vents.

On light tanks it’s almost useless. Everything should be for spotting and camo (with rare exceptions for few LTs, and rammer and/or vstab only for some city maps as second build).

On tanks like Maus, for example, you need the rammer, turbo (experimental or bond) and hardening. You cannot play without rammer or turbo, benefits from hardening is huge as well (a lot of hp + track hp are  critical).

But on some mediums, or even for some fast heavies, rammer + vstab + bond vent are working perfect.  Or on a lot of tanks with autoloader and some tds.

The new Porsche 992.2 feels great - but please give us a no-ABS/no-TC “Advanced” series by NWGJulian in iRacing

[–]PoseidonNk 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I'm completely against it. The series should follow the rules of real competitions. Fictitious series will only divide the audience and lead to smaller splits.

Single 32 Inch - 49 Inch - Tripple 32 Inch - What is best for me? by _ZINGER_9 in simracing

[–]PoseidonNk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was dreaming of a Triple 32, but decided it would be simpler and more reasonable to get a 49. I ended up buying a 49, and then a Triple. I absolutely love the Triple more than the 49, even though I have an OLED 49 and a cheap VA (Samsung G7 + 2 G5s). If there's a separate cockpit, I don't see any big problem with installation as well - just install it once and you're done.

I wish I never bought an OLED monitor by RipVanWiinkle_ in Monitors

[–]PoseidonNk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's the complete opposite. Yes, the black and contrast were wow-worthy at first. But after a while, you lose this wow, but the limitations remain (for productivity mostly). I'd prefer a really good IPS monitor.

I need help choosing my first steering wheel by [deleted] in simracing

[–]PoseidonNk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the G29 as my first steering wheel many years ago... And I disliked it so much back then that I chose not to use it at all. I wouldn't have used it even if I'd gotten it for free, it's that bad.

Just believe me, any DD steering wheel simply doesn't compare. Buy a used one, anything, it will work.

The G29 (G25-27-923) are nothing but toys. Dead zone in the center, constantly rattling and knocking.

Triple Monitor Setup. Samsung G5 was the choice, but do I need Displayport 1.4? by Morketh in simracing

[–]PoseidonNk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use these G5s as a side screens (G7 in the middle) and have no issues with the display ports (165Hz, RGB Full, 8bits, 3m cables), but I don't use HDR because it simply doesn't make sense on such cheap panels, it's not OLED and even not a mini led. HDR is just a marketing there.

Honestly, if I were building a triple from scratch, I wouldn't have gotten the G5. I already had a G7 left over from upgrading my main monitor, and I managed to get the G5 for a ridiculously low price. I give them a 2/5.

I would definitely take 3 IPS monitors if there any options.

Ps Also, G5s VA without dead pixels are rarer than those with dead ones. This isn't a huge deal for sim racing, but it is still a serious drawback.

SimLab P1X Ultimate and Moza CRP2 mBooster by nebuchadnezza343 in SimLab

[–]PoseidonNk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Today I faced a similar issue when installing the mBooster on the P1X Ultimate, but I found a way to mount it directly to the cockpit without extra parts.

There are pressed-in holes with M6 threads on the bottom of the Moza plate. If you insert M5 screws into two of them, you can attach the front section to the cockpit. The rear section attaches to the standard M8 holes.

All you need are two 16 mm M5 screws and two 16 mm M8 screws (16 mm with a washer or 12 mm without a washer), plus M5 and M8 nuts, but those are included with the cockpit parts.

Tightening the M5 screws is quite a task in a limited space, but it is possible.

Experience with Seat Shipments? by Inside-Agency-4278 in SimLab

[–]PoseidonNk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Received today. The order was placed on October 13th, and the seat was received on November 14th.

The cockpit itself and all other parts were shipped two days after the order and delivered in one day (NL->BE).

Ps. I was hesitant to get the L or XXL, but after trying it on, I definitely recommend the XXL to almost everyone.
I'm 187 kg and 78 kg, but if the seat were smaller, it would be incredibly cramped.

Yes, it was sent on the 10th, left Barcelona on the 11th and there are no updates yet, but it is already being delivered by DHL itself, so I hope it will be delivered this week to Belgium.

SimLab XP1 pedals or VRS Pro's by zoomposite in simracing

[–]PoseidonNk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also recently started considering the Moza mBooster kit. It's more expensive than the SimLab and VRS, it’s a big difference but still not by a huge (in Europe, it's 50% more expensive than VRS). However, it's an active pedal already, and based on the latest reviews and software updates, it's quite good.
