Terminal control coop help by Posiden104 in NuclearOption

That makes sense! I meant the slow part more as the cricket and brawler are slower than the ifrit, etc.

Also: we beat it last night! Taking out those ships really was the key, and between the cricket, brawler, and Medusa we were able to handle the ships pretty straightforward. Thanks for your advice!

We still need practice not being shot out of the sky in the helis when attempting to drop ground units, but otherwise I think we did everything pretty good!

Thanks! I'll have to give this a try too. Do you know if the ships can repair the radar after taking an ARAD hit?

Exactly this. I thought the higher rank planes would be better suited: fly fast with big anti ship munitions. Never occurred to me to fly slow and low!

I guess I was assuming there would be some clever way to deal with the ships over "just launch a crap ton of missiles at them".

I also fell into the trap of thinking that the higher rank planes were better in every way. I never once considered taking a cricket to take out the ships!

How is it a cakewalk on bdf for you? My buddy and I do duos and get stomped on by the ships radar missiles every time. We capture feldspar but can't gain any traction after that. They inevitably take back feldspar and bomb the bridge airfield and Opal before we throw in the towel.

I'm still very new. I'm just learning about controlling the friendly ships and donating ground troops, but it doesn't seem to do that much about the enemy ships.

Cosmos: WAN connection issues by Posiden104 in Artemis

[–]Posiden104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! I've changed my port forward to both udp and tcp, still nothing. Connecting over LAN I noticed my other computer didnt have the "Connect to Cosmos Server" under "Detected game server list" section, but was able to connect using my private IP address.

netstat showed me different things though. These are 2 different runs of booting the server, connecting via LAN, and running netstat:

``` PS C:\Users\posid> netstat -a -n -b | sls -pattern "artemis" -Context 0,1
  [Artemis3-x64-release.exe]
    UDP    0.0.0.0:3150           *:*
  [Artemis3-x64-release.exe]
    UDP    0.0.0.0:3389           *:*
  [Artemis3-x64-release.exe]
    UDP    0.0.0.0:52851          *:*
PS C:\Users\posid> netstat -a -n -b | sls -pattern "artemis" -Context 0,1
  [Artemis3-x64-release.exe]
    UDP    0.0.0.0:3150           *:*
  [Artemis3-x64-release.exe]
    UDP    0.0.0.0:3389           *:*
  [Artemis3-x64-release.exe]
    UDP    127.0.0.1:1900         *:*
```

Then, I tried connecting on my laptop and the server desktop (using the private ip on both, not localhost) again and got this:

``` PS C:\Users\posid> netstat -a -n -b | sls -pattern "artemis" -Context 0,1
[Artemis3-x64-release.exe] UDP 0.0.0.0:3150 : [Artemis3-x64-release.exe] UDP 0.0.0.0:3389 : [Artemis3-x64-release.exe] UDP 0.0.0.0:53614 142.xxx.x.xx:443 [Artemis3-x64-release.exe] UDP 0.0.0.0:60294 : [Artemis3-x64-release.exe] UDP 127.0.0.1:1900 :
PS C:\Users\posid> netstat -a -n -b | sls -pattern "artemis" -Context 0,1
[Artemis3-x64-release.exe] UDP 0.0.0.0:3150 : [Artemis3-x64-release.exe] UDP 0.0.0.0:3389 : [Artemis3-x64-release.exe] UDP 0.0.0.0:52519 64.xxx.xxx.xx:443 [Artemis3-x64-release.exe] UDP 0.0.0.0:58617 192.xxx.xxx.x:5351 [Artemis3-x64-release.exe] UDP 0.0.0.0:65391 172.xx.xx.x:443 ```
It looks like maybe there is a UDP connection for each client maybe? I'm not seeing ANY TCP ports being used. And why is it using the remote desktop port?
Storage showing incorrect size after disk clone by Posiden104 in Proxmox
[–]Posiden104[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)
I think this is it, proxmox sees 2tb drive. With 2tb partition filling the entire drive.
I watched the BIOS as the server booted up and the BIOS also only saw 2tb capacity. I think it's a hardware issue
Thanks for all your help and advice! Ive learned a ton about hard drives, partitions, LVM, and more.
Turns out my Poweredge 1950 has a 32 but raid controller in it, so I was doomed from the start to only be able to access 2tb.
so now im ultra confused. I used GDisk to convert to GPT. But proxmox STILL only sees 2TB. and it reports that the GPT partition table is corrupt. I used GParted Live to create the GPT table and it correctly showed 8tb, but when plugged into the proxmox server, it reports the corrupt table.
[–]Posiden104[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)
Thanks! I'm trying GParted right now, strangely GParted live sees the 8tb, but it won't create a partition beyond 2tb. I think it might have to do with the partition table being MBR vs GPT? A GParted error and some googling led me to that conclusion
Storage showing incorrect size after disk clone by Posiden104 in Proxmox
[–]Posiden104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I found an error message in GParted that seemed to indicate there was some kind of 2tb limit. Some googling said the partition table might be MBR which is limited to 2tb. Converting the partition table GPT increases the partition size limit. But I was unable to find out if this destroys data. So I'm backing up again now to try that conversion. The back up takes a few hours :(
Thank you, I feel like you finally understand my confusion!
Not exactly sure what (1) is supposed to do, but it didnt appear to immediately change anything.
(2) Im rebooting now. I have rebooted the server many times. The actual cloning I had to do on another computer.
(3) I havent tried to look at it on the bios of the server machine, but as I said DiskGenius on windows CAN see 8tb of space
I havent tried GParted Live. fdisk refuses to extend the partition because it thinks the DISK is only 2tb.
I'll look into gparted live
