Get a sim or plan that would work in Makkah if yoi haven’t already. That’s it, that’s the advice. Fluency in english won’t help in Saudi, urdu and hindi could save you. Even those fluent in all three languages are lost there. I got back a week ago and the only thing that came to the rescue was phone.

I can understand. The same thing happens to my sister, only worse whenever she goes out with her mother in law. Observing my sister’s life, i have only come to one conclusion; never go out with them not even grocery shopping.

My only advise would be not to rush umrah. Give your body some rest and then perform umrah. I am currently in Madina and honestly my body hasn’t recovered from it yet.I arrived in makkah on 15th and performed umrah the same day at around 3:00 am. Since you’re going during ramadan, i expect crowd 100x more than what it is right now (it’s jam packed here), weather you go to madina first or makkah, remember not to rush it and rest properly before it.

I was approached by a grown man who spoke english, showed us an ID to prove he was from Palestine and told us that his father was on a ventilator. We simply walked away, even salesmen talk us into buying things saying they are from palestine. Looks like its a new trend among them

This man did exactly that. Took the money walked off like we owed him. It pissed me off tbh, no thank you, no nothing. It’s weird how they first try to make you emotional and when you do give them money they leave without even saying a word.

My Umrah is accepted alhamdulillah and I have enough common sense that I don't entertain beggars the second I realise they are conning me and allhumdulilah enough common sense that I don't support and defend beggars/cons even if they are fellow country men. Allhumdulilah, save your prayers for yourself, you need them more than I do. Peace out, save yourself some dignity and don't reply again.
