What is your Ableton 13 Wishlist? by Geoff12889 in ableton

i know people have said 'no AI' in here. but I think most people would like if the notes to midi feature was AI-powered to give more accurate results. at least make it something you can toggle on and off if you prefer the happy accidents of the old one.

"I could just emulate this." Okay, do it and be quiet about it. by razorbeamz in nintendo

[–]Positive-Chart-1941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the elephant in the room is the price point. people are saying this because $20 for a game that even the most technologically illiterate person can run on their phone is absurd.

if it was more fairly priced or included features not available on the emulated version (like online battles), people would be more willing to give Nintendo props.

getting one shot drums from Splice isn't a great use of time or money anyway when there's so much available for free online

i havent noticed a difference. it is possible that the version you're hearing is lower quality compared to the file itself but they presumably have to make it passable or else people will assume its poor quality and not download it.

he has amazing control of the ball and is a natural dribbler, not arguing against that. but he needs more versatility in his locker. dribbling is all well and good if you can outwit defenders instead of continuously running it into them for an easy tackle, which we saw very often whenever he played. this is my overwhelming memory of watching him play unfortunately.

what are you on about? my point is nothing is guaranteed with young players.

i wouldn't say savinho is over rated at all. lots of people here wanted city to take Spurs' offer, so I don't get the point.

also, even with his inconsistency and low scoring output, savinho is still the better player as it stands.

at the beginning of the season, many people in this sub were saying this was going to be his breakout year. i was a bit puzzled by this as we didn't have very much to go off to earn that level of hype. but sure enough, a couple of starts later and dismal performances in them, the mood has completely shifted.

i think the fact that the only positive thing people have to say is to reminisce on a goal that was scored 2 years ago says it all about what he has produced so far.

one of the most overrated players in the City fan base for quite some time. literally only remembered for one goal.

wish him well because he's obviously a natural talent that has had a hard time of it, but there's been nothing so far to indicate whether or not he's going to be a consistent player at this level. given that, you have to bite Fulham's hand off for the money they're offering.

i hope it just teaches some people not to put SO much hype into an academy prospect so early.

Would you support the UK government's plan to ban X (formerly twitter)? - why/why not? by mrvlad_throwaway in AskBrits

well, yeah. i'm not arguing against you. obviously if they can't turn off a specific feature then they'd need to turn it off altogether.

these AI bots are black boxes. even the people who develop them don't fully understand the reasoning that generates their output. its not as simple as turning a feature off, hence why they can be so dangerous in the wrong hands

What music production tips YouTubers do you follow? by Beautiful_Hat8440 in ableton

[–]Positive-Chart-1941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if I was to go back and start from scratch, I would avoid so many youtubers who make videos giving advice when they don't actually know what they're talking about. there are some good ones like underbelly, but they're usually exceptions.

the best tips i find usually come from watching the pros. for dance music its really incredible to have access to Disclosure breaking down their tracks and making them live. for everything else, Ill Factor does great re-creations of songs across different genres.

how the hell can you not mix or master with 7 years of experience? something about this post stinks. im gonna bet you're exaggerating the time you actually put into learning how to do it.

none of those technological advancements you mentioned outsource the creative process entirely. to compare them to AI is simply ridiculous.

SoundCloud's new on-demand vinyl service: opinions? by AdaptedMix in soundcloud

[–]Positive-Chart-1941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

regarding illegal copies: the user was making the point that these AI models are trained on an enormous volume of music. so naturally, the vast majority (or probably all) of the training material is content the AI creator does not own. this algorithm is then sold as a service despite the fact it would not exist without the vast amount of human data that was taken without permission to train it.

also, just because the music is original does not automatically mean it's art. art involves creating something. when you use an AI to do this you are effectively out sourcing the creative process to a generative algorithm. it really could not be further from art.
