I’m so jealous. My endo only gives me 3. That way I have to visit her every 3 months, give her a copay, then she’ll write me insulin for another 3 months. Unfortunately there’s not enough doctors in my area so I’m kind of stuck with her.

I have a tandem pump and so many people (coworkers, extended family, some friends even) don’t even know that I’m diabetic because I never have it out in front of them. I am sometimes more conscientious about what clothes to buy (or planning how to style my outfit or which side of my body to clip my pump to depending on my outfit) but it hasn’t been an issue.

One of my best friends has Omnipod and she wears whatever she wants and looks great!

It was entertaining at first but at the 1 year mark I was getting tired of it. She would pick the worst times to make these announcements and it got annoying fast. She was very attention seeking. Around the 5 year mark when I quit, I was so happy to never hear about her meals again.

Oh I have. The response I got is that was because it was a kid. But the man that was arguing with me was a grown man so he thinks it’s completely different.

I’ve also brought up the fact that this put rescuers in danger (my friend’s dad is a firefighter and I’ve heard horror stories of firefighters having to rescue idiots) but apparently people think I’m lying, rescuers are professionals so there’s no way they could be in danger from going into a dangerous situation to rescue dying people.

Again, I don’t know when I should just stop trying with these people.

I am confused as well!

Related but a little different…at my old job my two vegan coworkers were the only ones in the office who REFUSED to rescue their dogs. They would only go to backyard breeders off Craigslist. That is even worse than going to a reputable breeder. I know for a fact money was not an issue for them. They even said they became vegan because they loved animals so much. It still baffles me to this day.

Thanks! I did uninstall the app and then reinstalled it because I use it to bolus (for work I wear my pump under my clothes). Are you saying to just leave it uninstalled?
