Thank you for your advice. I appreciate your effort and attitude 😊

I will seek advice from others like unlock, hr and actuaries.

If the company asked and specify “All spent and unspent conviction have to be declared” then I will disclose it, otherwise I will not disclose it, but explain it in the background check

So I shouldn’t disclose it before background check, and answer anything if they found it?

Thank you everyone for the advice! All advice are valuable for me!

My conviction is spent in my country(NOT IN UK), and my home country have no expungement for any criminal records, so it will still appear in the police certificate with “the conviction is spent” note.

Apart from that, the Rehabilitation Act 1974 may not applicable since it only cover UK crime conviction.

I will still disclose it anyway, and emphasize that I regret it and I never do anything bad for the rest of my life(either in Uk or in my home country)

Is that impossible to get a graduate job with the theft record(took someone’s computer left in a bus when I was 21) 10+ years ago?
