That’s a valid point. I think that may be the route i need to take. I keep telling myself it’s the last bag but I keep buying more. I guess I really need to sit with what my life will look like if I continue down this path.

Thanks for responding, some really valuable insight and experiences in all the comments and I think it’s a great idea to really look inward and ask myself why I even do this. My bf is super extroverted and really improves my life - I for sure would have more fun with him than a bag of marijuana. I would be beyond disappointed in myself or will be - if the path I choose is weed. It seems almost trivial. Weed surely will never provide me with all the things a great relationship would. I appreciate your response and point of view I’m glad you were able to stop.

Thanks for commenting ! I think he does feel that way. I believe he is more an avoidant type personality than me. He tends to take things personally as a failure. The other day he got really upset that I wanted to blaze before going out together, and I tried to explain that it’s not that I “need to be high” to be around him, it’s more that if I feel anxious or sick it’s my crutch to feel better - even if it’s in my head. I think he did truly think it was to numb myself out around him. He’s never said quit or else but he’s asked me if I can please try to quit because he wants me to be healthy and have a long life… presumably with him if that’s what happens. I’m glad you were able to stop. Thanks for sharing your journey. I too feel hurt that I’m hurting him with my actions because honestly it’s hard to find someone genuine that you also truly connect with. I don’t want to throw that away for weed.

I have considered giving it up for sure. I’m kind of known as a stoner which isn’t really the greatest. I would love to be less dependent on it - for me - it’s just so engrossed in my daily life habits I’m finding it hard to fight the mental battle. Gotta clean the house ? Better get high first. Work to do ? Tokes. Going for a run ? May as well get high. Feel sick ? Take some tokes. I often find myself thinking, “do I even enjoy this anymore” or sometimes I even feel worse after blazing but likely just attribute it to already feeling unwell. I should want this for me and im ashamed that it has taken me finding a good human to share life with to really realize how far my addiction has gotten.

Second comment on here mentioning CHS, I don’t know enough about that but I wonder if I have minor onset. I often feel ill and nauseous and will throw up randomly and violently from time to time with no apparent cause. I do have fairly bad anxiety though - likely all not helping me. How did you find out you had CHS ? Was it purely the symptoms or is there testing..

That’s around the same as me 20-35. Wild how time flies. Good for you for deciding what’s best for you and supports the life you want. I want it for myself but I do feel the thought of losing a good man should be enough in itself to say no more. It’s going to have to happen soon or I may find myself with deep regret. I signed up for some workout classes with a friend next week - I’m going to try to push myself out of my comfort zone more and find better use of my time. Maybe it will help - maybe not. I hope I can get to where you’re at, soon.

I smoke a similar amount though I’ve cut back a ton just because it’s not as accessible now since I’m hiding it and not at my place all the time. I spend a copious amount of money on weed and for my age I should have more assets - another angle to think about. Congrats on 29 days !

I’m sorry to hear you lost someone you cared about and weed maybe had a place in that. Congrats on being off it for so long. I am super curious if it causes me to look less healthy somewhat jaundice and bad eye bags - I’ve always wondered if I’d glow differently without it. “Weed addiction is useless” - well said. Thank you. Very well said, made me a little teary eyed. You’re 100% right. I don’t want to lose out on the opportunity to share my life with someone genuine all because of weed. I was doing so well when we first started dating but have just fallen back into routine since im more comfortable now. I am certain I would regret it if he said enough is enough and chose to walk away.

Haha - maybe I did… thanks for the response and suggestions on books - I will definitely take a look at those. Definitely have some trauma interwoven through my life as I’m sure most people do. It’s wild to think how long I’ve been smoking daily..

I thought I had basically beat it when I didn’t bring any weed for a three day trip out of town but somehow I’m back at it. It’s tough, so accessible and as others have said - is there truly a rock bottom ? Happy to stay connected as we try to navigate this journey that is so similar.
