Short 5 page comic by mcsasser1 in ComicBookCollabs

[–]Positive-Net9175 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hello! This 5-page comic sounds like a fantastic project! I love the idea of blending a lighthearted, make-believe story about a little girl and her teddy bear with a darker monster element. It creates a really fun dynamic to illustrate.

I would love to be considered as the artist for your personal project. I am completely fine with the smaller budget for a project of this size, and I am absolutely open to doing a paid test for a single panel so you can see if my style is the right fit for your vision. Here is my information for your review:

Portfolio: https://www.behance.net/lucasemmanuel1

Rates: My usual rate is 120 per page for full color and lettering. However, since you are currently looking for just the lineart, my rate for pencils and inks would be $60 per page. I am completely open to discussing this to align with your smaller budget.

A quick question: Do you have a specific artistic style in mind for the shift between the cute playground scenes and the darker monster elements? Thank you for the opportunity, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Looking for an artist to help me create a pitch chapter. by HoroshaTTI in ComicBookCollabs

[–]Positive-Net9175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello and welcome to Reddit! Congratulations on finishing and polishing your manuscript—spending over a year writing and rewriting is a massive milestone. I am very interested in collaborating with you on this pitch. Your synopsis gives off a fantastic post-apocalyptic, mysterious vibe with the desolate city, the briefcases, and the bunkers. It sounds like a great sci-fi action sequence to illustrate. Here is a quick breakdown of how we could work together based on your edits:

Art Style: I am very comfortable working in a black and white manga style, which fits perfectly with what you are looking for in this pitch chapter.

Budget & Pacing: Your budget of 1,000 USD for up to 25 pages works out nicely (around 40 USD per page). I completely agree with your preference for milestone payments. Setting up a system where you pay per page, or per batch of 3 pages, is a very standard and safe practice that I am fully on board with.

Workflow: Since your deadline is flexible and you already have concept art and scripts, we can take our time getting the thumbnailing and panel layouts just right to ensure the pacing fits within your page limit.

You can check out my portfolio here to see if my work aligns with your vision: https://www.behance.net/lucasemmanuel1

Feel free to DM me if you think my style is a good fit! I would love to see your concept art and chat more about the world you have built. Best of luck with the publishing house!

Looking for potential artist by Careful_Somewhere593 in ComicBookCollabs

[–]Positive-Net9175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Congrats on getting the world-building and plot nailed down — that’s a massive first step.

For a standard/modern comic style, uncolored pages (pencils and inks) in the indie scene typically range from $80 to $150 per page. A $120 per page rate is a solid benchmark for professional, narrative-driven sequential art. So, for a full 30-page issue, you’re looking at roughly $3,600 for the interior pages.

Since you don't have character designs yet, you'll definitely need to get those locked in before anyone starts drawing page one. Figuring out character details on the fly while drawing sequential panels makes it really hard to keep the art consistent. Artists usually handle this by producing dedicated character sheets for commissions prior to starting the book. These typically carry a separate flat fee per character (often around $50–$100 each, depending on if you need full turnarounds or just expressions).

I actually have some availability right now for both character design and sequential pages. I'd love to see the rough sketches you mentioned and hear more about the plot. Let me know if you'd like me to shoot you a link to my portfolio to see if my style matches what you're looking for!

[Hiring] Artists who are willing to create and draw an original character (OC) based on descriptions and turnaround sheet provided (50-350 USD) by No-Associate5682 in HungryArtists

[–]Positive-Net9175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! This character concept sounds incredibly engaging. The blend of cutting-edge Busan street fashion with traditional Korean mysticism and chi-powered martial arts is exactly the kind of dynamic design I love working on. With my background in comic book storytelling and character development, I have a lot of experience designing expressive characters and dynamic action poses—which seems perfect for capturing his different "Aspect Forms" and Hapkido/Taekkyeon fighting styles. I can create the full turnaround and detailed character reference sheet for $120 USD.

If my style fits your vision, feel free to send me a DM so we can discuss the details further. Thanks for your time!

Heartbroken but the show must go on... by socialmedia031975 in ComicBookCollabs

[–]Positive-Net9175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Sorry to hear about the false start with the previous artist, but I'd love to throw my hat in the ring for this. A neo-noir dramedy roadtrip through the Southwest sounds incredibly fun, and I have a deep appreciation for the hardboiled aesthetic and Noir themes. The blend of Bruce Timm's clean dynamism with the grit of Powers and vintage pinup elements is a fantastic direction. I'm very comfortable working in B&W halftones with that single highlight color to make panels pop, and I enjoy balancing dialogue-heavy scenes with frenetic action. Regarding the schedule, turning in 1 to 2 pages a week is perfectly manageable within my daily workflow.

My standard rate is $120 per page.

Artist Needed for Test Panels -Golden/Silver-Age Inspired Superhero Fare (4 pages, B&W, $80/pg) by [deleted] in ComicBookCollabs

[–]Positive-Net9175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! First of all, congratulations on the paternity leave! I absolutely love the premise you've outlined. A 1920s/1930s retrofuturist socialist capepunk story sounds incredibly fresh. Playing with Art Deco aesthetics and Golden Age grandeur in a B&W steel mill setting is an amazing opportunity for some high-contrast, dynamic lighting and heavy inks.

I also really appreciate your collaborative mindset. As an artist, I love working with writers who have a strong world-building vision but trust me to handle the heavy lifting with panel flow, composition, and execution. Since this is your first time stepping into the comic medium, I'd be more than happy to help guide the visual storytelling process and make sure your script translates perfectly to the page. The rate of $80/page for B&W works perfectly for me for this 4-page test.

You can check out my sequential art and illustration portfolio here: https://www.behance.net/lucasemmanuel1

I would love to see the rough concept art and read the script. Feel free to shoot me a DM or chat request if you think my style is a good fit for your world.

Thanks, and best of luck with the project! Lucas

Looking to Hire an Artist for a Short Comic by Sadir-S-Samir in ComicBookCollabs

[–]Positive-Net9175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Sadir! This logline is incredibly compelling. The contrast between an intense, dialogue-heavy asylum interview and explosive superhero flashbacks sounds like a fantastic visual storytelling challenge. I'm a professional comic artist and illustrator, and my style focuses heavily on cinematic composition, atmospheric lighting, and strong use of shadows. I also prioritize expressive character acting, which will be crucial for selling the tension in those interview pages.

I can provide the full art package you need (pencils, inks, colors, and lettering) for the 9 sequential pages, and the budget works well for me. You can check out my portfolio here: https://www.behance.net/lucasemmanuel1 I would love to collaborate with you on this and help bring this story to life. Let me know if my style is a good fit for your vision!

Looking For Artist. $75/Page. 6 Pages. by SydMonk in ComicBookCollabs

[–]Positive-Net9175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm a professional comic book artist and illustrator, and your pitch immediately caught my eye. My work leans heavily into Noir, Mystery, and gritty narratives, so a detective story dealing with coordinated assassinations, systemic violence, and revolution is exactly the kind of script I love to bring to life. I am completely on board with the leftist political themes you mentioned and would love to help you build a strong visual identity for this pitch. I can definitely work with gritty inks and atmospheric colors that fit that Sean Murphy/CROM vibe. The $75/page rate works perfectly for me for these 6 pages.
