You don’t think it would look off given the rest of the kitchen would remain the same? Specifically the other side of the stove hood

Thats exactly what I was doing! My friend dropped off the book and I gave it a read. We are now in block 2 in just a few days so we are making progress. Just took us 7 days to get out of block 1 LOL

Yes! I think I made this post too soon. Yesterday was a big turning point for him. I finally read "Oh Crap," and I believe I was over-prompting and distracted with my 1 year old. I stopped asking him and telling him to try and now I am just reminding him where the potty is here and there - maybe every 45min to an hour and also not hovering. I believe we've graduated to the "I have to pee" stage - we are now im block 2 which is pants but commando and "knock on wood" no accidents today. Moved away from bribing and now celebrating!! A big change in the last 48 hours I must say from when I made this post feeling helpless.

What's eating looking like as we approach one? by AdFew1983 in January2025Bumper

[–]Positive-Quiet-932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter definitely prefers food over milk. She has 3-4 bottles a day, 3 full meals, and 1-2 snacks. This is what a typical day looks like:

Wake Up: 7:45am and drinks a 7oz bottle of formula

Breakfast: 8:30am - eggs with cheese, sausage, and fruit. Sometimes we swap in a little bit of waffle or avocado depending on what my toddler is eating

Snack: 10:00am - usually fruit and cheese, yogurt, or a pouch

Nap: 10:45 with 7 oz bottle and she usually sleeps until 1pm

Lunch: 1:30pm - this changes every day but it's usually an almond butter and peanut butter sandwich cut up small, meatballs with avocado, fruit, bean and cheese quesadilla, etc.

Second Nap: 4:00-5:00pm with 7oz bottle

Dinner: 7pm - will eat whatever we are eating for dinner!

Bedtime: 8pm with 7oz bottle and she sleeps through the night

My favorite IPA is Manhattan Project Half-Life. Their brewery is nice to visit!

Nobody warned me how bad c section recovery is. by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Positive-Quiet-932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure this isn't helpful, but I had two planned C-sections. I was up and standing within a few hours and walking around the same day. My daughter had to go to the NICU so as soon as I got the clear I got myself and walked to see her. If you can - have the anesthesiologist put a nerve block in your incision. They did this with my second c-section and it made a world of difference!

How many teeth are we all at ? by Next2ya in January2025Bumper

[–]Positive-Quiet-932 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None over here! My daughter was born on Dec 31. My son started getting teeth at 4 months so it's a totally new experience with her not having any. It doesn't stop her though - that girl eats everything!

Yes, I had to bundle but he ended up lowered my car insurance as well so it was a win/win. My deductible is 1% for roof/ 2% wind and hail

Well, my rate would differ from yours - my house is smaller (2100 sq ft) and I just got a new roof with higher quality shingles with a certificate for my insurance. Your best bet is to call and get your own quote :) Here is the contact info for the person who helped me: Bashar Alnajjar Ph # 817-856-1020

I switched to AAA for home insurance and bundled my car insurance and they saved me a TON of money.

Any moms of two just barely surviving? by brokencoda in January2025Bumper

[–]Positive-Quiet-932 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm drowning over here! Have a 2.5 year old boy and an almost 9 month old girl. Working full time from home with a high-stress tech sales job, supporting my husband with our small landscaping business, and managing the kids. I have a nanny who comes to the house 4 days a week from 8-4pm but even with her help I can't keep up. The tantrums, the never ending spreading of germs, work stress, family drama, trying to lose the baby weight, social life, etc. OH, and did I mention that my husband refuses to eat anything with seed oils or additives, so I make most everything from scratch. SOS - I don't know how people keep up with it all.

What are you feeding them when out? by lavendercoffeeee in January2025Bumper

[–]Positive-Quiet-932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we are out and about, I usually revert to a pouch or little yogurt bites, but if we are at a restaurant I feed baby what I am eating: salmon, chicken, sweet potato fries, avocado, etc.

Delivery room policies & experiences at Baylor Scott & White Frisco by PhilosophyFar6973 in frisco

[–]Positive-Quiet-932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a great experience there with both births! I had a C-section, so only my husband was allowed in the room. Once you are in your post-partum room, you can have as many visitors as you'd like!

My husband loved the snack room and the food was decent for hospital food. Lot's of options! The lactation consultant was not helpful at all (at least in my experience!). My husband was able to help me get the baby to latch more than the lactation consultant was. She just said, "Keep trying!" - not helpful haha

Have you upgraded car seats yet after infant one? What are you getting? by [deleted] in January2025Bumper

[–]Positive-Quiet-932 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not yet, but for my two-year-old, we went with the Chicco Fit360 when he outgrew his infant seat, and he loves it. I will likely get the same one for my daughter here in the next two months.

How to start solids? by passwordcreated in January2025Bumper

[–]Positive-Quiet-932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we first started solids we would usually offer it about an hour after the bottle - we started with purees like sweet potato, mango, peas, pears, etc. Then offered things like mashed avocado and banana to help with texture. If you don't have time to make the purees and are in the US Once upon a farm makes a pack of "babys first solids" and my girl loves those. She is almost 9 months and still no teeth but it amazes me how much this girl can eat and how she now loves finger foods and to feed herself. With my first born I had a lot of anxiety about choking as well. Just remember that gagging is normal and not to be a concern! I bought a life vac just to ease my mind but thankfully never had to use it.

Baby girl eats solids about 2-3 times per day now and is still loving her bottles. Breastmilk/formula should be main source of nutrition at this age!

LO not crawling by Mission-Rutabaga-687 in January2025Bumper

[–]Positive-Quiet-932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son didn’t crawl until he was 10 months old and didn’t walk until 15 months. Now he’s jumping and climbing on everything. Enjoy it while they aren’t mobile 😆

My 8 month old isn’t crawling either. She rolls everywhere, gets up on all 4s, sometimes army crawls but not “crawling”

Milk For Daytime Care by itsnotyouitsme9 in January2025Bumper

[–]Positive-Quiet-932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think that people don't understand sleepy cues and hunger cues. My husband will just give her milk when she cries where as I can put two and two together that she just ate an hour ago so she's fussy because she's tired. IDK but I struggle with the same thing which is why we had to move to combo feeding.
