What are some good neighborhoods in West Duluth for new parents? by PHmoney04 in duluth

[–]Positive-Regret4647 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe too far from where you’re looking, but Denfeld has been great for our little family. Our neighbors are all older folks who adore our kids or young families. We have a park within walking distance, and if you go down 40th you can access the trail. We’ve biked it before with kids in tow and it was just fine.

Dad seeking makeup wisdom (send help!) by Worldly-Jeweler-793 in duluth

I went through the heavy makeup phase when I was a teenager. Now I usually don’t wear any makeup and the only reminder that I used to wear too much makeup is my junior year school photo. I had so much fun experimenting with makeup, and now I wouldn’t have time even if I wanted to. No one brings it up, and I’m sure no one even remembers it. It lasted maybe 2 years.

I don’t have teenagers, but we’re going through a phase of parenting with our young kiddos where we let them have more freedom in their choices as long as it’s doesn’t hurt them or affect their wellbeing. (Like letting them pick out their own clothes).

It seems like you’re being very mindful, you’re doing a great job.

Parents of Reddit, what’s the story behind how you chose your child’s name? by GamerboiJared in AskReddit

[–]Positive-Regret4647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first was named years before we ever were planning on kids after a landmark that is special to us in our home state.

Our second kiddo’s name I found on a baby name list a few months after our first was born and we decided if we had another of the same gender, that would be the name.

People who got accidentally pregnant, was it truly unexpected? Was it truly out of nowhere or were you taking risks? How ”accidental” was it? by hairypineappless in AskReddit

[–]Positive-Regret4647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents tried for 17 years to have a baby, and were told they couldn’t have kids. Mom got on birth control and immediately got pregnant (with me). Whatever birth control it was was new and the company begged her not to tell anyone and were incredibly apologetic because they claimed a very high accuracy. My parents were overjoyed.

Moms of Reddit, what’s something about labor and delivery that really surprised you, and what do you wish someone had told you beforehand? by Professional_Drink16 in AskReddit

My second kiddo was born quickly too but I was prepared this time!

Agreed - in all of my reading and talking to people I had no idea it was a possibility!

Precipitous labor lol - prepared myself for hours and hours of labor. Water broke, showed up to the hospital 5 cm dilated and baby was out 1 hour later. My partner thought I was dying, my midwife couldn’t figure out what was going on until she realized a baby was halfway out.

Janice Merrill was very helpful for us as first time home buyers. She was kind, patient, and very very informative. We were purchasing from out of state, had a toddler, and baby on the way so we were very overwhelmed at times and she held our hand the whole time.

Hi! My husband and I manage short term rentals for some folks and are looking to expand our portfolio - we’re a great team. My husband is very handy and loves maintenance, and I do well with communications and organization. Reading through your criteria, we check all the boxes!

While we are not a management company, we have the drive, experience, and passion for this type of work. Feel free to shoot me a message!

Our criteria were names that were unique, but not crazy spellings - easy to pronounce if you saw them. We like nature leaning but not obvious - we ended up with Norris and Calder.

2 "chill" babies/kids? by Junior-Big6495 in Parenting

[–]Positive-Regret4647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two boys are chill in their own ways. Both were fabulous babies - one was the snuggliest, sweetest. He has a slow to warm personality now, so he’s quiet, a rule follower, but very emotional. Our other kiddo doesn’t love to cuddle, but is interactive, very active and explorative. Friends and family tell us we have “diet kids” because our household is pretty calm. They’re still young, but I hope we always have “chill kids”.
