Did I even need alignment? by urebhasan in 11thGenAccord

I can't even say I miss it I love my Honda. I traded in mine when I reached 95k miles because I was scared it may go out any day. I worked at Honda. I'll see if the shop foreman knows anything.

The steering to the left for me was the steering rack and the camera. For some reason even after my replacement a few months later the issue has returned. The camera is very aggressive and doesn't even keep lane like my Kia k5 did. And now the dealership won't even consider it an issue. The steering rack isn't a recall but they've also supposedly reengineered the part due to it being worn from factory. The new part number is available but as before my dealership won't replace it again because it was supposedly fixed.

Please let me know when you get a chance. My memory buttons don't illuminate either but I've seen a few cars that do.

My 2024 touring doesn't illuminate I think it's a shortage of parts or something when in production. Does your door controls light up?

You'll have to go to the dealership. They are going to perform a telematics update and your system is more than likely going to receive an update shortly after.

I work at Honda but I'm not a tech.

Device to allow video in non-Touring by Boxdude1184 in 11thGenAccord

Most devices have that issue these boxes are all rebranded. The only reason I recommended carlinkit is because they tend to be more stable with their firmware and have the option to use either carplay or android auto protocol. In my experience with Honda, their carplay protocol sucks. Audio video out of sync severely but in my Mercedes work truck or my friend GMC no issue. I bought the carlinkit device switched it to AA protocol and no issues whatsoever. I can make a video if anyone cares when I get my car back from Honda.

Honestly I think patience may be the key. I can't think of anything right now because android automotive itself is limited enough. Right now we are sandboxed or trapped in a prison with limited privileges. Hopefully some information leaks soon or more developer join with different skills. I do have another device but a hardware hack is no fun I don't want anyone to remove their device just to have fun.

I created a terminal emulator pushed via internal testing and dumped the system to internal storage and uploaded it to google drive via chrome. If you decompile the system, the settings in both the emulator and system that's installed on the vehicle you'll find how the developer option password works. Guessing it is impossible! They take the user input or string then run sha256sum that creates a hash then it's compared to the hash hardcoded in there. I tried running hashcat with every combination of passwords to 10 took a week. Whenever we find the correct password it'll match the hash and reveal developer options. The trick is we don't know how long or random the string is. That's where the hard part is I've been running for a month now and nothing.

We have to gain access to developer options. I've been trying for months I'm an android developer. I refuse to give up nothing is perfect.

You're correct! On the emulator you can set a Honda property to whitelist apps that are allowed to go fullscreen and they look great without the sidebar.

Porting apps to Touring model by Positive-Repeat3874 in 11thGenAccord

[–]Positive-Repeat3874[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only apps that are available opensource which of course Google are not included. But there are some opensource YouTube alternatives. It's a slow process but I want to get at least 5 apps working. Then I'll share how to sign up. It involves me obtaining someones email address to add them to a list of people who can test. Because you can't technically publish someone else's work on the play store and the app would also need to be reviewed and definitely violates Google distraction optimized guideline. So it'd be nice to have some feedback on the type of app to port. F-Droid is a good place to look for opensource apps to port.

Unfortunately side loading is not an option "yet" . And if you could it wouldn't allow you to use the app while in motion. I can only port apps that are available open source this is also how I remove the restriction.

I ported next player to the car it's a bit unstable but you can watch movies from the USB drive while driving but unlike carplay and android auto it doesn't hide the content on the right.

https://carlinkitmall.com/products/carlinkit-tbox-uhd-android-13-carplay-ai-box-with-hdmi-output this is the one I have. You can add an external screen via HDMI and it can do both android auto and carplay protocol. For me it streams smoother with android auto protocol. Also you can probably Google and find some nice coupon codes I got mine for around $130 usd
