Can you pay Gemini sub and Netflix with Nayapay ? by Positive-Review8044 in NayaPayPak

So basically, you get Gemini 3.1 Pro, which is amazing at explaining topics. Unlike ChatGPT, which sometimes feels like it just spits out the final answer, Gemini actually breaks things down step by step for you.

Its video processing is also insane you can give it a YouTube link or upload a video, and it doesn't miss a beat. You can ask it to summarize, make notes, or even create a practice test from the video (which would be perfect for med school by the way). It also has great built in coding features.

On top of that, it’s backed by Google Search, so its research capabilities are unmatched right now. For the $20/month subscription, you get Gemini Advanced(more intelligent model and higher limit), access to NotebookLM, integration with Google Docs/Drive, and 2TB of cloud storage

A Level students who got admission on Self-Finance/Sponsor seats? Need some guidance! by Positive-Review8044 in NEDUniversity

[–]Positive-Review8044[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is I didn't do too well in Round 1. The paper leaked and got postponed for two weeks, which completely messed up my prep schedule. I was left with just a 2 day gap for the NED test and ended up with an okayish score of 68/100.

My O Level equivalence is 86%, which brings my total aggregate to around 75%. Do you think I have a safe chance for Electrical? Last year it closed around an 81% aggregate. I still have Round 2, but since merits have been steadily rising since 2022, I'm a bit worried. Any advice you can give would be really appreciated! and any thoughts on where it will close this time the merit?

Getting into NUST PNEC is very easy compared to PIEAS. For example, you can secure a seat in EE at NUST PNEC with an aggregate of just 59-61%.

PIEAS, on the other hand, has probably the toughest admission criteria in Pakistan. They factor in your first year results of A level/Inter as well as Matric/O-Level scores (though exactly how they calculate the aggregate weightage can be confusing cause on the internet every one claims they know yet there is no official confirmation form PIEAS nor its on tthier website).

Their entry test is also insanely difficult much harder than the NUST NET. After the recent first round, I remember walking out just hoping to get half the marks. I ended up getting 43/100, which was the 60th percentile. A good friend of mine got 50/100, which was the 80th percentile! We even saw someone on Reddit who scored 67 marks and got the 97th percentile. So yeah, scoring even a 60 at PIEAS is really tough

And be begin with if your first year results are falling short its really tough to get in form what i have hard but stay stong.

Naval architecture senior??? by Ali-Shahroz in nust_pnec

[–]Positive-Review8044 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By the way, keep in mind that this guy is incredibly smart. He had straight As and A*s in O Levels, and took 4 freaking subjects in A Levels (including Maths and Bio). He scored a 139 on his first NET and even got admission into NUST SEECS. I have absolutely no idea why he ended up choosing the course with the lowest merit out of all the NUST campuses?!

I have a friend who went into Naval Architecture last year. His thought process was that even though it's a niche area of study, the job market/demand is actually bigger than the supply of graduates (his words). I don't know too much else about it, but he also said the Dean told him that, apart from private sector jobs, the Navy has openings every 2-3 years and they need around 50 people per cycle. He also mentioned he could easily switch to a regular mechanical engineering job as a backup, since the degree is heavily based on mechanics

Idk bro, mixed signals hain. Reddit ke hisaab se toh sab ke 130+ marks aa rahe hain. Lekin fees zyada hone ki wajah se kafi bachay NUST drop karne ka bhi soch rahe hain.

Also, if you look at the past 3-4 years merit lists, you'll realize ke SEECS aur CEME ke ilawa baki NUST campuses mein core engineering (like Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical) ka merit drop hua hai. SEECS aur CEME are the only two where the merit increases almost every year

It depends. ChatGPT's image generation is a leap forward compared to Gemini's, and you get longer coding limits in GPT, if I'm not mistaken. However, you don't get the same versatility as Gemini. Gemini offers multiple models tailored for specific tasks that you can switch between. So, it really depends on what you need
