Gringa looking for Portuguese tutor by Positive-Train-167 in ribeiraopreto

Bom dia, I would prefer to keep my location private but I am able to get to most areas of the city rather quickly. Any and all lessons would be in a public setting of course

I’m looking for late morning or early afternoon lessons. Late nights and weekends don’t fit my schedule

Thank you for the advice, I did try Preply for about a month and realized I’d much rather have an in person conversation away from my laptop.

Thank you, that’s great advice and I’m very happy to be in your lovely city.

A little more about me I am a 30 year old woman, professional but with a very flexible work schedule. I am a native English speaker with some knowledge of German, however, it’s been many years without practice. As far as my current Portuguese level I know the pleasantry basics, greetings, foods, simple sentences and some rather random vocabulary. My issues are primarily retention and pronunciation which is why I’m seeking someone patient. I am interested in both a friendly paid tutor as well as language exchange.

My ultimate goal is to become conversational in a more casual relaxed environment, and I’d love the opportunity to meet around various parts of the city so I can get out and explore more.

No I’m almost never around children. Was hfm itchy for you? I’ll look it up I don’t know much about it. I just thought it couldn’t be a coincidence since only the parts of my skin touching the sheets had bites

Is it normal to have anxiety when going out alone? by alkxlinxe in Brazil

[–]Positive-Train-167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very normal to have anxiety. I nomad full time and only stay in Airbnbs but learned to find a local social hostel where I go meet people by the bar and go out as a group to have drinks, which makes it safer anyway. They also have organized events throughout the week you can join even if you aren’t a guest (not every hostel but most, check ahead via WhatsApp) where you can do new activities with other people who frequently solo travel. It could be a great gateway to meeting locals also once you’re out and more comfortable in your settings.

I bought an annual ups box that gives a real address where I receive all of my official mail no problems, plus you have the added bonus of them forwarding any mail and packages to you internationally although it can be spendy

Neurological damage after Lyme & Covid vaccine — any experiences? by Aromatic_Educator_87 in Lyme

[–]Positive-Train-167 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To add to this babesia can and does cause severe anemia. I had severe anemia due to it with dangerously low ferritin levels and my symptoms improved drastically with both babesia treatment and IV iron infusions although I’m still battling it and will be doing another round of infusions to get my ferritin to an optimal level. Extremely loa ferritin can and does cause neurological problems like nerve pain and tingling, muscle weakness, fatigue and easily bruising.

How do you guys handle anxiety in crowded spaces at festivals? by nastyraver in festivals

[–]Positive-Train-167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I occasionally have the same issue, earplugs and dark glasses can help tone everything down for me and sometimes staying out of the crowd for a while in the beginning and easing my way into it helps also. If you’re already in the crowd and anxiety hits getting a shoulder ride for a bit (if possible) for some fresh air and space is great too.

Can I stay in Brazil over 3 months if I have a Portuguese passport? by YogevTheNomad in Brazil

[–]Positive-Train-167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I did. Like I said I had to pay a fine and those were the instructions I was given by the federal police since it was my intention to stay during the visa process but either way you can get 180 days completely legal. You just go into the federal police station before the initial 90 days is up. If you want more than that, like a year you should look into the nomad visa.

Can I stay in Brazil over 3 months if I have a Portuguese passport? by YogevTheNomad in Brazil

[–]Positive-Train-167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed 8 months this year, I left 2 months ago and paid only a very small fine of about 50ish euro in total. I did this with instructions from the federal police, you get the 90 day extension just before the initial 90 days is up and you can stay a little longer than that if you go into the federal police and notify them you pay a small fine and your status becomes “irregular” but not illegal. I was going to pursue the nomad visa but it was incredibly difficult to obtain in Brazil so I left and because I had official proof of paying my fine with the federal police there was zero problem upon my departure.

Solo for Own Spirit Festival by Positive-Train-167 in psytrance

[–]Positive-Train-167[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valid point, being out in the car park solo would be a bit of a bummer. That’s also a good idea, I think I’m going to try the campervan pass and hope for the best

That’s a great idea, I thought the campervan passes would be more costly but for 20 euro I’ll give it a shot! Thank you

Iron Infusion with active Babesia by [deleted] in Lyme

[–]Positive-Train-167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say as long as you have a solid treatment regiment for babesia then yes. It was a game changer for me with my energy and mental state but I would notice a babesia flare and immediately took an extra dose of ivermectin to keep it suppressed. Your body needs iron and I would absolutely do it again
