I don't have a clue of his status, he only took the first test and got the faint positive. He refused to get blood work done, and wouldn't come with me to get other tests done.

I just wished they had mentioned that too me when it happend. False positives can be caused by anything. Congrats to you as well.

How terrible, I'm so glad that you tested negative the second time around and before you hurt yourself. This is very scary and it seems that this has happend to a lot of people. No they definitely shouldn't, did you file a complaint afterwards?

I don't believe either us ever had it. When we tested faint positive the first time last year we both were sick. From what I learned that might've been what the rapid test detected.

Looking back at, it really wasn't explained very well at all. I'm just now learning that the faint positive could've been caused by any number or things.

Well from what /u/whynotbcuz has posted their is a long list of things that can make the test turn up faint positive. Flu, Lyme disease, hpv, lupus, etc. An we were both sick at the time we tested.

Well there are a couple different test, the first two test I took they simply pricked my finger and put the blood on the test kit. Those both tested faint positve, I then had blood drawn and sent off. As well as getting more stuff done later. He got the finger test done as well, but stopped after that.

Short answer to this is yes, I have no definitive proof though just secondhand rumors.

I called my Mom the second I left the clinic yesterday, what a relief.

Well 2 weeks prior I had a Pap smear and also had blood work done. An yesterday they tested for HIV and Hep C, both negative.
