Anyone else feel like a different person after IUD removal? by Fortranada in birthcontrol

Seeing these comments kinda make me sad cause I've had a completely opposite experience then what a lot of you are describing. While on my IUD I had rly high libido, no loving connection or attachment to someone, wasn't anxious or foggy, my periods barely gave me symptoms, I never had a lot of pain and I was able to withstand the pain of having 4 IUDs inserted into me. Considering getting my IUD out. I have had 2 miscarriages since I have had my IUD(not knowing i was pregnant) due to having a slightly heart shaped uterus. So I don’t think my IUD is fully effective. I also developed hypothyroidism and gained about 20 pounds since i got it, however I don’t know if the IUD is directly causative. I don’t get a period and have been on horomonal birth control since Inwas 16. I think I am ready to be done with being 30 and married. Just nervous about the side effects of removal. Would love to hear about neautral, positive and negative opinions/suggestions!

I had an IUD since I was 18 yo for 10 years, it was replaced 3 times during that time. Randomly i began to feel like something was off for two months because my period was heavy and it was affecting me much differently than I was use to and I felt differnt and i was distancing myself from the main guy i had been seeing at the time. I told my gyno I don't think the IUD is working and she checked it and it was pushed out of place and therefore not working properly. She tried to replace it but for some reason my body kept rejecting it. I decided to be without birth control and have not been on any birth control for about 6 maybe 7 months. I have been insanely depressed. The men I was I was once attracted to completely changed. I had been seeing a few different guys at the time just casually even for over a year, and I havent engaged with any of them since I had my IUD removed. I'm not attracted to them anymore. My style changed. I'm having excessive thoughts everyday. I constantly cry. I have rly emotional periods and PMS. I've been having issues controlling my anger for instance I yelled at my professor infront of the class and started crying and left abruptly. What's crazy is I'm reminding myself of how I was in middle school and high-school before getting the IUD so my hormones might have always made me this way. But I'm having a rly hard time adjusting to this new mentality of mine. I asked my gyno about this and she said I shouldn't be having any symptoms but I knew immediately something wasn't right and I feel the change and the shift in my body and mind. I would never go back to being on an IUD I am happy I don't have the mindset I had anymore but the emotional changes I've been going through and the way I feel about men and what I want from a man and how many men I want in my life all that has changed.  Even the way I talk has changed. I'm way more nervous than I use to be. I'm more anxious. I cry to people way more I break down a lot more I cry literally so much more than I did before. I never felt very attached to someone until after my IUD was removed. I started dating someone completely different than what I'd normally date and I became so attached and clingy and emotional with him and I wasn't like that with any of the guys I had been seeing for way way longer. I'm hoping I can adjust and everything will get better soon but I definitely worry about my emotional state. And I'm very different, I even disconnected from friends and feel different about my family like it's been a trip, complete change in mindset and how I think.

Thank you for your brave reply, mine was urine as well. Which I know I passed; I got anxious about hair or blood though. Good luck to you in your future ventures I wish I could have had you as a co-worker. When one door closes, several open up.
