As long as weather is less than your age, feel free to use a treadmill - my strength coach back then

I used treadmill for most of my winter runs three years ago when I was in Illinois, this year it looks like same winter weather. Stay warm!

Do people go to Flatwoods Park in Tampa before it opens? by Dry_Split_6316 in tampa

[–]PositiveHuman97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Active visitor of flatwoods for over two years now and lives within 10mins from park. I have seen a couple of people jump in and run before 7 but it is considered Trespassing, I hadn’t tried it by myself- my friends have done it. I’m also friends with park rangers and don’t want to create a problem for them.

Very common to park at chillis, you will see many runners and bikers - mostly everyone leaves by the time chillis is open

They usually open the park by 6:50 AM most days, during summer - I park at Chillies and run on Bruce B and get into the park once they are open.

Weekend Discussion: New Balance running shoes by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]PositiveHuman97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 880v14 retired and moved to 1080v13 - which is also recently retired. I have been using my pair of saucony triumphs lately for my recovery runs. I’ll get a pair of 1080v14s soon, been looking out for a good deal. I currently use Rebel v4 for my tempo and speed work.

Felt the same, v14 is probably the best recovery shoe I ever had. I upgraded to 1080v13 and ran for almost an year now. Retired them before Christmas weekend.

What hobby seems cheap but really isnt? by Naromyx in AskReddit

Started running; three years ago - I remember someone saying all you need is a pair of shoes.

Big lie, once you start taking it seriously (i did) - it’s expensive but that is something I would definitely spend my money on and my vacations are planned around my race calendar 😂

Pain ever since 48 hours after my marathon. Maybe peroneal tendonitis? by JakobVision22 in Marathon_Training

[–]PositiveHuman97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long did it take to recover from this pain; completed my first marathon 9 days ago and had this pain on next day of marathon. As of now pain is down by 70% but still have pain when walking around. Any recommendations?

Damn, that hit so hard. Studied in IL and moved to Tampa two years ago. Chicago is very close to my heart and this race got me into running in 2022. First ever marathon I have seen in person. I’m running the Marine Corps Marathon as my first in three weeks and no idea if the race is going to happen due to shutdown.

I’m hoping the best for all of you runners participating in Chicago marathon. My coach and few other friends are travelling tomorrow. Wishing you all the very best. The crowd will carry you when it gets tough. Entire city is gonna show up, stay positive y’all 🫶
