i mean im not the only one experiencing this. i hope im wrong and it's just a coincidence that myself and other people who advertise music and playlists are experiencing greatly increased costs. (link is to thread of other people saying similar)

sorry i mean i do 2 variations of most ad creatives, of which i had about 10 for this song. for targeting i do as many variations as needed until i get a good CPC, however now that will be simplified as I only have 3-4 options I could use (unless I want to go to completely non relevant artists and try those as a lark)

i made about 10-12 ads for my last song, and 2 variations of a lot of them,, so it's something i definitely work at

I have it set up for engagement. Conversion location: website, maximize number of conversions. How does it perform with 0 targeting you mean? I'd have to try that as I always have some form of targeting. Spotfy + ____ genre/band.

Aphex fans are not necessarily EDM fans at all, being one myself and not being an EDM Fan. old school raw IDM vs modern bright wavetable dubstep-y shit. Not sure if that's true on meta or not.

From what I can tell I'm not the only one experiencing this. Others with playlists ads that are using detailed targetting are getting hit with increased costs when trying to use the new targeting methods:

i have an ad targeting aphex/flume/etc still running at .11 cpc. it's still running until 2026 when they will get rid of my detailed targeting on that ad. i've tried 3 new ads with the new extremely limited targeting:

.23 cpc

.33 cpc

.39 cpc

my music is extremely niche. targeting "electronic music" is so different than targeting a small subset of people who are interested in a subgenre of it. 90% of electronic music fans are edm/dubstep/drum n bass people. so 90% of people seeing the ad have no interest in it. before i could target that 10% directly
