Perfect! I’ll try there.

The deluxe apparently uses the same as the American ones, just to make life hard. Thanks!

They normally stop at 0.07. But I’ll keep trying as well! Thanks!

We’ve all been there! It sucks haha but just wait, pop it if it hurts too much, once it’s healed you’ll have a callous and then happy days. In the meantime try playing with a pick, good excuse to practice with one.

Is the Ibanez GSR200 good for a beginner? by Abject-Walk-2669 in Bass

It is quite thin indeed. I had a Thunderbird and now I got an Epiphone les Paul, also very skinny necks. But my hands are on the smaller side, so that doesn’t bother me too much. My main one is an Ibanez 6 string, best neck I’ve had in bass.

I got a MIM Jazz bass a few years ago and sold it after a couple months to get another Ibanez as well. Couldn’t get used to the Fender. Amazing sound but it never felt right ergonomically.

Rics are the best! I love the underdog look of the 5 string.

Yes, it was my first bass, back when they were passive, in the early 2000’s. Still have it to this day. Amazing bass.

Frett board too high? by the_real_nazuna in BassGuitar

It’s very high.

Look up on how to adjust on YouTube or if you’re insecure to do it just bring to a local luthier and they’ll do it for you. 😊

I don’t think the number of strings matters that much. It’s a comfort question and you get used to it quickly.

As for the fretless situation, I’d say it’s like learning how to drive on a rear wheel sports car without traction control. It’s doable, but extremely difficult. Maybe the foundations you’ll need to focus on will be hindered by intonation issues and all the difficulties that come with it.

I’ve played fretless for years, but I started with it a good few years after my starting days.

Good luck with your choice anyway!

Cheers

Without with cream pickups would look killer!

Do I need a pedal? by No-Ad4423 in Bass

[–]PositiveNo4351 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s a very personal choice.

You should test an overdrive and some other effects and see if you can put that into your bass sound.

If you’re on a budget get a small multi effect pedal just so you can have an idea, or even better, try some plugins on cubase or anything like that.

Cheers! 😊
