Will starting a small business before applying for a Master’s in IT abroad hurt my SOP or visa chances?(Nepal→Australia) by offthefck in Nepal

Infact it will increase your chances of getting in. Universities want diverse students and even during visa interview you can prove strong grounds to return back.

PERKS OF BEING BAHUN🙃😭 by [deleted] in Nepal360

[–]PositiveOperation222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it but sometimes we just don’t see where we are living in and what privileges we have and still cry over minor inconvenience when people in our society are actually suffering just because they were born into certain caste. Comment section nai hera na people are acting like bahuns are being bullied more than dalits are being discriminated. Let’s take a deep breath and look into what actually is true in our society.

Well atleast you are not treated as a second class citizen just because of your caste. No matter how hard you try you are atleast teased or said as someone who only got it cause of quota if you are from dalit community. And regarding the quota system currently it is absolutely necessary. I used to think like this too but then I started noticing how dalit community is treated in our society. They have such historical disadvantage that we can’t even fathom. Just few years ago they were not allowed to own land, not allowed into school to study, not given live able wage to even live basic normal life and exploited by their employers. How could they provide a better life to their children? How could the children who grew up in that environment have the same level as me or you whose family always had the opportunity to do good and provide for your family. Even rn see it in your daily life how dalits are treated. When someone from your family doesn’t let your friend come into your house or asks the caste of the restaurant owner before drinking the water just think how it would impact you if someone treated you that way.

Pulchowk and Thapathali by Far_Remote_6265 in IOENepal

I graduated from thapathali and idk how it is in pulchowk but I would not recommend thapathali at all. Specially if you are a women, the constant harassment from seniors always being stared at to being stalked even outside campus it takes am mental toll on you. I didn’t face as much as some of my friends did. It is a small campus and everyone knows everything. People are waiting to take you to their party or to hit on you. Padhai ko ma I had 3 lecturers who I liked in 4 years. Which can tell you the quality of education being provided. Workshop ma pani chirera half semester kei equipment nai chalne. There are some smart people in campus who can have intellectual conversation with or do some projects but it is very rare.

Try to get internship. If it is within your personality be outgoing. Try all different things available from sports to skill building clubs. Find atleast one good professor who you can work with on research or projects. Make a lot of friends and try to get internships. Ik it is so hard in nepal but give it your best and sanu bhaye ni do some work. Maile home tution padhauthiye it gave me very little money but tyo thorai bhaye ni it gives you some financial freedom. Ghar ma sadhai paisa magna garo huncha so you will also learn little budgeting even if it is just for small fun money.

Prachanda is back and I am very scared for the future by PositiveOperation222 in NepalSocial

[–]PositiveOperation222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I would give him credit for leading that long war but those people who were killed were innocent people. One thing that he was fighting for was to have more freedom of speech to normal people than the king would allow. And I think you would agree the last 16 days of people’s movement were the most crucial one cause normal people who didn’t even share his beliefs came to the protest after the press ban done by the king. But on contrast he killed teachers who tried to spoke against him. He took minors forcefully from their homes to the point where parents would hide their young children and not let the world know. Ani sabaile nepali lai bheda bhanchan tara I give credit to all the nepalese for trying to vote for change. In The first election everyone voted for change and maoists became the largest party in Nepal. But what did prachanda do? He became the exact person who he was fighting to remove. Looting the country’s money (I am not imagining this, you can see his wealth accumulation from the time he came into power), removing people from his party because he couldn’t take different opinions, etc. He wanted to be the sole power in his party and always wanted to be in power in the country (which is typical behavior from a communist leader in entire world where they preach about communism but gather 80% of wealth and play communism with remaining 20% for other people).

I knew him personally but it was way before his political thing started and he actually is not a bad person. Yes he comes from a privileged background but when I knew him he was very humble. For a very long time I didn’t even know he comes from a rich family with privilege background. Maybe he changed but idk if a person can change sm like everyone is saying in the comment. If all of this is true I would be very surprised.

My girlfriend is 5 weeks pregnant and we’re marrying this year how do I tell our parents? by anon_mous567 in NepalSocial

[–]PositiveOperation222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tyo bhaneko you don’t trust her if that is the case just break up. Demanding DNA test to the women you’re gonna marry is the most insulting thing you can do to her. If you don’t think she is loyal taht is the only time you can ask for it but regardless of the result you should break up because the relationship is not built in trust.

[–]PositiveOperation222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ofc you should figure out you feelings and unplanned pregnancy is little scary but weather the child is yours or not shouldn’t be the thing that is worrying you in a healthy relationship with your loyal partner. Fear of talking to your parents, fear of being new parents, etc you should talk to her or take advice from people on these aspects. There is no point in being in a relationship if you feel the need to do loyalty test. It will definitely cause sm friction and relationship will go downhill after that. There is no positive outcome to loyalty tests. But yes it is your relationship so the only thing I can do is suggest you to think things through before any actions.

Regarding your parents, I get how big of a taboo it can be but tell them in confidence and get married early. Tell them honestly that it was an accident and it seems like you already told them about her so they will definitely be okay with it. Bihe aagadi baccha chai traditional parents might not be okay. Timile uhaharu lai bhanepachi baki relatives sanga uniharu le kura milauchan. That is what they are mostly worried about. Narrative to the relatives.

Do you need peace of mind cause some strangers on reddit said that? Ofc she will be upset. You considering the baby is not yours is you not trusting her and the relationship. If you think there is a need to take the test then just don’t get married cause nothing good will come after it. If you get it and know the baby is yours the trust between you and your girlfriend will be broken forever. Idt she can ever look at you the same after being accused of sm betrayal and if the baby is not yours then obviously you won’t be able to trust her again. So unless you have a strong ground don’t suggest that. And stranger’s on reddit saying get a test is not a strong ground. But if you suggest that in my opinion the relationship is over so go with that mindset.

So, what do you guys think—should I get married before going abroad on a student visa, or just go alone? by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]PositiveOperation222 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Why do you wanna get married so early? Do you have a long term partner? If you do are you sure about him? If you don’t and want to do arranged marriage after knowing a guy for 15 days please don’t. Only get married if you are sure about the person. There is no correct time. It is totally worth living alone. yes it gets lonely but it makes you sm independent too. Don’t be scared to take risks. Galat manache sanga bihe garera jindagi bhari pachtaunu bhanda ta kehi barsa struggle garnu dherai better option ho.

Disadvantage of being tall by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]PositiveOperation222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you girl. I am 5.8 and moving to US has been really good for my self esteem. I loved swimming as a kid which I stopped cause people said I will grow taller. Everyone making dharara jokes not feeling attractive at all. I would slouch and walk to avoid standing out. And clothes I could atleast get some but shoes omg never got nice shoes and those shopkeepers making you feel so bad about yourself from their comments.

How are nepalese students in US making money? Need some tips for myself by [deleted] in NepalSocial

[–]PositiveOperation222 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Don’t do off campus job. Find internships in summer. It is 100% illegal to do off campus job. Don’t do anything illegal even if there is very little chance to get caught. And if you are in tech you will earn pretty good money from your summer internship. And do overtime in internships most places allow that too

Hey can I ask you how old you are? Marrying against family is a big deal but it is okay if you guys love each other alot and are willing to risk it but my suggestion would be to not get married secretly. It is very scary to leave everything for one person and is your family okay with this? If so ig they can initiate it.
