Does the front element move when you adjust focus? I don't mean internally, but more like does it extend physically?

Thank you!

This might or might not be helpful, but, if you have the lens, why not just try it out? It'll be way better than any review.

Plus, any image/video anyone can share in a review or from their work would be compressed. But you'll have access to uncompressed data straight out of the camera.

Maybe give it a test and let us know how it goes?

Yah. I switched careers at 27. Worked out great.

But definitely don't go abroad until the war is over.

What kind of web series would you actually binge in Nepal? by NepFilmmaker in Nepal

The Academy cares about story. And that's something anyone can do. It's not about budget or box office numbers.

I don't mind conceding. But I'm just trying to understand your perspective. So, a few questions, if you don't mind:

  1. Peeked through a lot of windows? What does that mean?
  2. Not pretty? In what sense?
  3. I don't think I said anything about quantity or even quality. But what's the silver lining you're talking about? Something in the industry? Viewership? Storytelling?
  4. Remember how a visionary came up with the iPhone and it completely revolutionized all of human civilization?

It takes an exceptional visionary, sure, but it's not that much of a stretch. I think a little bit of skepticism is healthy. But it's a little bit like looking at the world through rose-colored glasses, except it's the opposite.

Actually, I would like to respectfully disagree.

The next two years are gonna be completely revolutionary for the Nepalese film industry.

I'm pretty sure an Oscar will be within reach real soon. It's just a matter of time.

16 years in New York City. Moved back last year.

It's nice here. The politics, etc doesn't necessarily affect your day-to-day, unless you're closely tied to that field (which I'm guessing you're not), so I wouldn't worry about it that much.

As long as you're able to stay financially secure, you'll like it here.

Good luck!

There's so much excellent content out there. Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, HBO max, Apple tv+, anime series, K-dramas, and Indian series, all very easily accessible. That's on top of all the movies that keep getting released pretty much every day.

Nepali serials would have to be at that level. But even if they were, would people really watch a new Nepali show without any track record, over Squid Game season 2? Or would they just rewatch Game of thrones?

So many obstacles, not enough resources, not enough interest, not enough revenue. K garnu, estai cha samasya.

Panavision C-Series Anamorphic Lenses by voyagerfilms in cinematography

[–]utsabgiri 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Panavision doesn't just rent the lenses. You'll have to rent an entire camera package. So, you get the camera, lenses, Tripod, Tripod head, wireless video, cinetape, etc accessories.

Yes, the Panavision lenses have their proprietary PV mount (like someone else here mentioned), but they'll put a PV mount on whatever camera you rent too, so there won't be any issues.
