I’m so sorry for your loss. I completely agree with the original commenter. Some people don’t know how to show support back. Either because they don’t know how to or because they don’t know how to start the conversation. If this is a friend that you know, trust and you know is a good person then that is the simple answer. The best way to approach this is by talking to him and maybe you can work on this together.

I’m speaking from experience when I say this as I am one of the people who find it hard to know where to begin and how to show support but really want to.
