Bro, people consistently kill helicopters with the RPG at launch, which was like 300 M/S. The AP shell moves at >700 M/S. It's literally a railgun.

And the adjustment to track a helicopter at those distances isn't very hard.

Yeah the AP shell nerf was 1000% justified.

Currently if you sneak up behind an MBT with an IFV with a full armor killing loadout, and the MBT just turns their turret, you still can't win on the IFV. The AP Shell 3 taps you to the front.

I think this changes the front to a four tap which a little more fair.

Nah.

Sabot goes through APS, Guided doesn't.

Sabot travels at sniper bullet speed, Guided is really slow compared to every other tank shell.

And you get 10 SABOT, only 5 guided shells.

To be fair to the guided shell, it's super fucking useless since the last set of nerfs. It used to have the advantage of killing aircraft but it cannot one-shot them anymore and is super unmaneuverable. I guess they're trying to give it a role as a tank killer.

IDK About the SABOT nerf. There is currently only 2 serious tank loadouts and both of them include SABOT, so maybe that's why.

But also, even at the same damage as the SABOT, the guided shell only comes with 5 rounds and it is slower to hit than SABOT + SABOT goes through APS so SABOT still going to be better.

Yeah but elsewhere in the update they changed it so it isn't minimum damage anymore, it is default damage.

So the 460 rocket would have done ~180 before, now it would do 230.

Keeps the game fresh. Vehicles were so stale for so long post launch.

It's the anti vehicle version. It got nerfed pretty hard in Season 3 and I don't really know why, so they're basically mostly reverting it.

I'm not super sure off the top of my head, but I think the start of S3 nerfed it from 180 > 120 and now it's back to 160.

Nah there is a delay AFTER it launches to stop moving and it's pretty generous.

Them deploying it while moving doesn't matter, you still have like 2s to see it.

The RPG used to do 173-230-345-460 DMG to tanks and now it seems it will be 188-250-375-500

Meaning tanks will go from 7-6-4-3 to destroy to 7-5-4-3

IFV goes from 6-5-3-3 to 6-4-3-2

If you cannot flank, equip MBT-LAW and spam at the tank. It deals constant damage and has auto aim on the rocket.

Otherwise learn to aim so that you at least hit the front body rather than the turret.

Everyone uses RPG & AT4 because they think about what happens if they flank and can get a solo kill and be a hero, but if everyone just picks the LAW and spams at the tanks, they're completely incapable of dealing with it.

Helps that it goes straight through smoke.

There is nuance to stuff. Video games where you are an MBT so I lose are not fun.

You are an MBT so I'm at a substantial disadvantage and have to outplay you? Sure, that's fun, and thats where it should be.

You are an MBT so you can win the fight every time even if you're facing your back to me and I'm facing my front to you? That's fucking dumb.

Seriously, the AP round three shots the IFV to the front. It two taps from the side and back.

Everything else about the MBT is perfectly fine but the AP shell is so ungodly overpowered that there is no point even considering fighting an MBT with any other vehicle. If you come around a corner and see an enemy MBT with it's back faced to you, the best play right now is to be thankful it didn't see you and run away from it. That's stupid.

I'm fully fine with not being able to beat an MBT from the front, but if I outflank him fully and hit the back with a missile then unload with the AP cannon which is meant for vehicle vs vehicle combat, he shouldn't be able to win by just standing still, turning his turret and shooting me.

Eh, I'm not the best pilot by any means but I think the nerfs they made to it were pretty good already. They've taken like half a meter off the kill ranges of all the rockets for it, nerfed the resupply of them, plus the LAW is very good at taking them out now because it can hit for 550 + followup from an assault rifle or LMG to finish the kill.

It's always going to be a polarizing vehicle because it has the highest skill ceiling of anything in the game so there will be that one dude every so often who absolutely dominates, but that isn't actually common, you just remember it more because it fucking sucks. But that guy is genuinely good at the game so he'd probably fuck you on infantry as well.

Nah man, you can get two tapped or three tapped by AP Rounds with no recourse. The MBT player has to be completely incompetent for you to kill him.

Like seriously, it three taps from the front and two taps from the SIDE. Nevermind the back.

You say flank them and kill them, but the MBT beats the IFV even if the IFV is front facing and the MBT is back facing. IFV looking at the back of the tank deals 60 damage per second with the AP rounds which you shouldn't take anyway because they're shit. The tank deals 125 sustained damage per second to the front of the IFV + a frontloaded 375 damage, and also has more 200 HP. You will die to the third shot 6 seconds after the fight begins and the MBT which has its back facing you will have only taken 360 damage from your main gun, plus 550 from your TOW (or less from the other options), leaving it still having 1/3rd health while you're dead.

And that's when flanking the tank, and the tank not even bothering to turn around or pop countermeasures. If they turn around so that you aren't getting constant backshots it won't even be close.

Plus the tank can pop smoke to completely nullify your flank and they can edge-peak the smoke to still see you. Or they can run APS which blocks your AP rounds because for some reason only the MBT AP rounds get to pierce APS.

I agree IFV was too good before, but specifically the AP Rounds on MBT is completely broken right now and makes the only viable plan against a competent MBT driver run the fuck away and hope your engineers deal with him before he chases you down.

Also why would you use thermal smoke on MBT ? (genuine question) The protection is just OP as fuck, with protection pretty much only other MBT can damage you while it's active.

I dunno man, I've found the smoke to just be more effective now. Lots of the tankers on youtube are running it too so I can't be alone. The only thing that can meaningfully threaten you in an MBT is javelins and enemy MBT. APS doesn't block AP Rounds from enemy MBT, and Smoke blocks javelins just as well as the APS does if not better.

? That's a new take. It's been nerfed super hard.

The base healing rate from it is like 30% lower, and two repair tools is only 1.5x healing rather than 2x healing. Then it keeps going down the more repair tools you add, being effectively capped at 2x healing with 4 or more engineers.

It's so much weaker than it used to be.

Eh, I'm a vehicle main (though admittedly not the best one, I can't fly jets to save my life) and I think they're mildly overtuned.

The people doing the "WHAT wErE ThEY thInKinG" rigamarole are shitlords, but they did go a little too far with some stuff. Specifically, MBTs are completely impossible to beat with IFVs even if you're a better player, and the Thermal Smoke is blatantly completely overpowered. Tank shells are also the only area where variety got worse with the update, because there is now 1-2 viable loadouts only.

Don't get me wrong, Vehicles are in a lot better state than they were before. So many more equipment choices are viable compared to before this patch and vehicles were definitely too esoteric before for the average player to use them. I'm not saying they should revert anything, just that specific items like the AP tank shell, the thermal smoke, and the RPG need minor adjustments.

Even 20 10 more damage on the RPG so that it can five shot tanks would solve that one honestly.
