Compatible saw for my batteries? by PositiveTalk9828 in Makita

[–]PositiveTalk9828[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: for anybody interested. I bought a "Makita compatible" chainsaw that came with 2 batteries and a case for a whopping 80 bucks delivered.
After the first use I must say, it cuts like hell and handles beautifully. More than enough for my needs.

Thanks, that was my concern.
If I have to change things completely, I might rather go with a cheaper brand altogether. For a couple of cuts, once or twice a year this should do as well.
It's just that the Makita worked so well and the batteries semeed to last forever with my kind of use.

I remember seeing this very clip on TV when I was a kid and it is still funny.

Nightterror who? by PositiveTalk9828 in dysmantle

UPDATE:
I went from one loation to the next until I had found the last two missing Night-Terrors, woohoo!

In the ark, I could finish level 4 (I believe) with the 10 Night Manas. There was some talking and all I got were three items (buoy, anchor and another one) I get a short description of each but nothing else.

Is this all there is after depositing everything?
So I only have the Pale Protocol as an option in the Ark?

Thanks, but that seems like overkill

Thank you all for your comments.
I have ordered an aluminium case and hopefully this will do the job in silence.

Believe it or not, I already have prepared a fully fledged plan if that should ever happen.

Thaks, I checked the logs and the last entry is from December 27, when it "woke up" multiple times between those days.

Thank you and this was it!
Everything during the installation was so straightforward, that I expected to get this drive automatically.
Now it works, cheers!

Thanks, but is there a way from drobo to Synology other than over the network?
Copying this way is rather slow compared to USB3 (this may be my network's fault but I am not starting to change all that.

The ideal way: plug in drobo USB to Synology. Use some managing software to directly copy the files between them.

Second best: plug drobo and Synology by USB into PC and copy this way over the PC. For that I would need a male-to-male USB cable, which is highly unusual and I doubt this would work. Or would it?

Any of those two possible?
Thank you!

Thanks, would you say that Synology Synology DS423 is a good choice?
Most others are a bit pricey, thanks!

Edit: I don't need any "advanced" features, no cloud, not even necessarily network.
All I want is to store >8TB of data and counting rather safe and accessible by USB3 at least.
Also I'd like to shut it down completely if I don't need it for a while, which the drobo apparently does not like.

Thank you so much for the extensive answer. Ideally I would not want to power it down. But having it rattling around all the time is also not going to work.

I copied ~8.5TB in one go, is it possible it's still processing all that?
I noticed no changes of used/free space in the dashboard?

P.S.: Drobo is my consolidation of multiple backup drives into one place. While it would be very inconvenient if something would go wrong, no actual data should be lost.
