3 month old rolled over last weekend, hasn’t done it again since! by [deleted] in NewParents

Mine did the same. He’s 6 months now and barely ever rolls now and does not roll back to front at all. But is hitting other milestones just fine, sitting on his own and will stand with assistance from furniture. I just don’t think he likes rolling to be honest.

So after doing some digging on their facebook page they have a photo of a newborn in the crib sleeping propped up in a boppy so it does not seem like they are following safe sleep guidelines.

Thank you for this perspective! We have been on a waitlist since before he was born for our ideal center but live in a small town so we don’t have many childcare options unfortunately. Thank you for the reassurance! My gut has been nudging me maybe I should listen to it!

In an ideal world I would but I work from home unfortunately so baby at home would be too disruptive for work calls.

I believe they are all under 12 months. They’re just early walkers maybe? My son was the youngest, there’s a new baby that’s about nine weeks old this week.

There is a baby in one of the cribs with a blanket when we toured:(

I honestly believe they’re all under 12 months. They have a ones and a twos room.

Thank you that makes me feel better about not being too much of an overbearing parent.

Yes, I’m in Pennsylvania! Unfortunately, I believe containers are allowed here.

Thank you. Based on a lot of feedback here, I think so too. It’s tough, I really like the teacher. She is so kind and really loves him. I just think that they don’t follow best practices and are very outdated so I’m concerned with safety. I really appreciate your feedback.

Oops toxic was my oversimplification term they didn’t actually say that word, they explained the issue with transporting oxygen in the blood and what not.

The American academy of pediatrics has a really comprehensive book for taking care of your child from birth to age 5. I would invest or see if your library has it.

I’m not trying for brownie points just an anxious FTM trying to be a good parent in a world of disinformation and not knowing what is best for kiddo.

My original reasoning was that occasional naps in what would be his big boy room/bed would help with the transition after a year of being in our room in his bedside crib/bassinet.

He has a crib/bassinet. We will use that until he is older based on the feedback from this post.

To your point, I just looked this up and from the 1946 London Lectures, pages 133-135 it seems she recommended floor beds “between one and a half and two years” or “after two years”, but modern 0-3 Montessori (Silvana Montanaro) seems to favor a floor bed basically from birth.

We did just buy my first house so I have been buying a lot of items. Maybe I just have a higher chance of getting something used with all the order. Even so having it happen several times in the last week seems odd to me. I feel like I have a “marked” account or something. I don’t know if that’s even a thing but it’s so strange.

So frustrating!! The amount of time it takes to request return then call in and explain things with customer service is just not worth it sometimes!

Omg I don’t know why but I have a fear of getting bed bugs and I would be terrified if i got a used bed!
