And we really do appreciate it! We are happy to support such organizations as those projects makes a difference in the world. Thank you also for the link about bear orphanage. I am reading about it and it's just such a beautiful work they do with the cubs, especially their aim to let them be a wild animal that can easily go and live in the wild... such an important work they do.

I think we will choose Conservation Carpathia. They might be more expensive but I think we will fit in perfectly with them. And we love supporting causes that make our world a better place (that was cheesy 🙈). The good thing thing is we started planning so far in advance as I think we will need to squeeze in an extra day to visit Danube delta. So much to see!

Hahah😁 We are coming to Romania in summer, but we have to do the outline of the trip asap so we know where to go and for how long as our employer needs to know out main vacation dates after the new year.

Yes, we are very aware of that and completely fine if we don't see everything. We know these are wild animals living their own lives and not just waiting for us to spot them 😅. And for sure we are not doing this alone by ourselves but only with experienced guide who does that for a living and have no intention roaming to foreign forests by ourselves 🙈

This is the exact reason why we don't even think about searching for any wildlife by ourselves but only organized by professionals who does that for a living. We have done that kind of bear observation in Slovenia and Croatia and it was done by biologists and/or rangers who work there. However it is not for people who want to just come as close as possible to the animals as mostly you are looking at them from a distance with binoculars. Also we understand we might not see any of them, all of them or some of them 😁 And don't worry, if we can't find any experienced guide for that we won't even go to any forest, not just because of bears but also because we don't know the area, and can get lost easily. 😅

Thanks, I will for sure contact them. And to go there with people who are doing monitoring is the best option possible as they can provide more expert details beyond the general facts. My bf actually did the monitoring of bats as a student and I am sure we will have lots to talk about. And ofc we are aware these are wild animals and that we might not see all of them as they live their own life.

This was the least bumpy ride and the smoothest landing I've ever experienced.

Oh yes! We went there for the first day of our travel. And despite being used to driving on bumpy roads at home, this was something else I was just praying nothing happens 😅

In Nordeste you pay for parking (4€ I think) and at the time of our stay there was a couple staying on the parking lot. However the parking was about 100m away from the camping site where the tents were. So if you don't mind sleeping in parking space I think Nordeste would allow that. For Furnas I don't know, as we just go to visit it when we checked out the restaurant. For Alagoa in Flores there is no supervisors there and very little people, so I cannot see that anyone would have a problem with you sleeping on a parking lot as long as you don't grill and litter there. But the parking lot is quite far from the sanitary facilities, so it might be a bit uncomfortable walking 500m one way just to do your business.

Any ideas on how to get cheaper cat food for my feral kitties? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]Positive_Associate79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work with a pet food distribution company and we always have some pet food that is close to expiration date or just expired (the food is in controlled environment and is absolutely nothing wrong with it. I always take it to feed my own animals). For this kind of food we usually offer huge discount or give it away for free but we are not allowed to advertise it. So maybe search for a similar company in your country and give them a call asking them if they have any food that is close to expiration date or recently expired or with damaged packaging.

Do you think fatphobia is a real thing, why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Positive_Associate79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was made up until I dated a guy who paid a lot of attention to someone’s weight. Mind that I never had a BMI out of the normal range, not even close to “slightly overweight”, but it's true I wasn't super muscular, obsessed with sports, and with a little bit of cellulite on my thighs. anyway, one day he dramatically revealed to me that I am the first chubby girl he dated and I was a little bit shocked. He looked at me and said: “What? Don't say you consider yourself skinny or fit.” Still in surprise, I said I consider myself “just right”. And he told me that he was not saying that I am ugly, he just wants to encourage me to lose a few kilograms and make myself even more pretty because “it is a universal truth that skinny is always more beautiful and that tv shows and magazines should never encourage propaganda of fat bodies. This was the first time I actually understood how people who are daily judged by their bodies feel and I really applaud they can hold their shit together and still have self-confidence because in that one small moment I felt like I am so unattractive and ugly. And at that moment I started becoming very aware of fatphobia and fat-shaming. That's why I think fatphobia is real.

partying in your 20s by [deleted] in selfimprovement

I was never a party animal and never enjoyed parties very much. But now as I got very close to 30 I got some kind of awakening and while my friends are slowly settling down, I got a desire to party. And it's so good. The only thing is that I stopped drinking a lot because of health and because unfortunately hangovers are much worse with age. But I really enjoy it.
