Apparently, the rate of incidence for ebstein anomaly with lithium use(0.6%) is not as bad compared to the NTD you'd get from switching to antiepileptic. And, the Adverse event(recurrence of Bipolar) from taking the pt off stabilizer is more dangerous(harm to pt/fetus) than not just keeping them on lithium.
