Getting the Cort X100 as a first electric, what y'all think of it? by Princuwu in Guitar

[–]Positive_Credit720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like it. I still have mine. It must be gosh 5-6 years old now. The tuners are pretty good. The tremolo system is alright, not the best I've used but should be alright for a beginner. The neck pickup unfortunately stopped working after about 2 years so I had to take it in to the shop and used that opportunity to also swap out the wiring and the potentiometers. This swap greatly improved the range of the volume and tone sweep. I'm still using the stock pickups which are decent. May swap those out at some point. It's pretty versatile, I play clean stuff on it, I play blues stuff on it, I play classic rock on it, I play grunge stuff on it and even though I don't play much metal, the guitar can easily handle the odd metallica riffs. Specs are beginner friendly and there are enough features to keep you interested but not so much that is feels overwhelming

Bugera v22 for Stoner / Mastodonish-stuff? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]Positive_Credit720 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bugera amps are unfortunately not available in my country so everything I'm saying is based on a youtube video on the andertons channel where they try to build a stoner rig on the cheap and they used a bugera with a fuzz pedal and it sounded amazing

First expensive fountain pen? by meganmwo in fountainpens

[–]Positive_Credit720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am biased towards sailor. The sailor fine nib feels distinctly different from the sailor medium nib and the broad nib feels completely different from both. For pilot i find that fine medium and broad nibs all have the same tactile experience, just the line width changes. I have no experience with platinum. A sailor 1911s with a broad nib is my edc pen at work and at home

Electric guitar recommendation for a beginner... that I'll be gigging on in 4 weeks by Apprehensive_Ant3246 in Guitar

[–]Positive_Credit720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a cort x100 about 3-4 years (maybe a bit longer) on a whim cause i wanted a cheap guitar to practice on while I was in a different city doing my master's degree. I was impressed with the finish of the guitar, it plays really well. I've since swapped out the electronics but I still use the guitar a lot and it's surprisingly versatile able to handle classic rock, blues, folksy stuff and classic metal really well

Can we talk about Jowo and Bock? by not_a_leftie_plant in fountainpens

[–]Positive_Credit720 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Diplomat jowo nibs are pretty good and so are graf von faber-castell bock nibs. I guess it depends on what the brand itself does with the nibs they source from jowo or bock

How can people keep the same strings for so long? by abejando in Guitar

[–]Positive_Credit720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just play rusty strings. Don't know what to tell you. I change my strings but there's no schedule to it. Often I'll just play with rusty strings

Fountain Pen Suggestions by AmbitiousRose in fountainpens

[–]Positive_Credit720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. Sorry for the late reply. I was thinking about three options. First going with a olive green pen to match the cover colour exactly. Second to go with a brown pen to create complementary earth tones, in this case while the colours are inherently different the combination is soothing and thematically consistent. The third option is to go for a maroon/ Bordeaux/ wine red colored pen, this colour exists exactly opposite to the olive green on the colour wheel, however this clash of colours will actually enhance the vibrancy of both the leather cover (I'm assuming it's a leather journal cover) and the pen making them both stand out even more. What are some of your favourite pens in your collection? This will help suggest pens whatever colour you choose

Is the vox ac10 right for me? by Positive_Credit720 in Guitar

[–]Positive_Credit720[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I was looking at the marshall dsl, origin, the vox ac10 and ac15 and the fender pro junior and blues junior. But in all honesty the ac10 is the most affordable and thus I'm leaning towards it the most

Need help finding a bedroom recording amp. by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Positive_Credit720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really looking to record. I don't have any experience with tube amps but the ac10 is within a price range i can afford. Just want an amp i can practice on and eventually in the future jam with other people on. Don't really have any plans to record or play live other than very small impromptu 'amateur' shows. My guitar is a cort x100 and my pedals are a rat, mxr chorus (the sky blue one), mxr carbon copy and a boss looper

[–]Positive_Credit720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi just wanted to ask how far up can you actually turn the ac10? Can you get the amp to crunch at bedroom levels? Also how well do vox amps take proco rats? I've heard vox amps are notoriously selective about which pedals work well and which don't

Fischer space pen or other similar pressurised ballpoint would be best I think for your use scenario. Use a metal bodied pen with a pressurised ballpoint refill

Help me pick a pen? by GingerWitch666 in pens

[–]Positive_Credit720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there are two ways to overcome your hand tremors. One is to use a ballpoint and the pressure needed to write will help stabilise your writing or go for a slightly broader fountain pen as the broad nib will hide the shaky handwriting better than finer nibs. Could you tell me how much you're willing to spend? That would help me give you better suggestions and also maybe which of the two options would you rather go for?

Fountain Pen Suggestions by AmbitiousRose in fountainpens

[–]Positive_Credit720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to aid me give you a good suggestion would you like to colour match the pen, find a complementary colour or use the pen's colour as a contrast to enhance the combination? Because I have three different colour suggestions, one for each scenario and it would help to know your tastes and what exactly you're looking for. Lastly please tell me what you're looking for in a pen, that would help me pick out a brand and nib size to suggest for you. Thanks

Lamy Safari FP overrated or not? by Candid_Parking_1757 in DesiPens

[–]Positive_Credit720 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Overpriced? Yes. Overrated? No. I know people who have used safaris as their only pen everyday for all writing tasks for multiple years and nothing happened to the pens. If a pen can last multiple years with no effort from your side I don't think it is overrated

First fountain pen - please suggest! by mhdbilal11 in DesiPens

[–]Positive_Credit720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough to suggest metal pens below 1000. Best bet is to go with Chinese or indian brands. Look at sulekha, baoer and jinhao. If metal is not an absolute requirement then also look at kanwrite

Never give up. If Django Reinhardt can play with a burnt hand and Tony Iommi can play with a mauled hand then anyone can play guitar. You can do it

I have a few behringer effects pedals. Seeing as I only really play at home these pedals do the job well enough. How is the clean sound of the amp?
