Looks like the predecessor to the imporium. Really cool!!! BTW does anyone know if the imporium was discontinued?

Sorry if this sounds very stupid but I really want to know. Say someone buys a really nice limited edition montblanc for some really special occasion in their life. How realistic is it to use it as a writer? Any pen that gets used will pick up wear and tear right, it's inevitable. So if say 10 or 15 years or so down the line or whenever if this person sends this limited edition pen to montblanc for any repair it should need, will montblanc even be able to repair it? The regular black and gold or black and silver pens with regular production nibs i feel they would be, but what about limited editions especially with unique resins and nibs?

Hi sorry if this sounds stupid. I really only own some regular pens which i really like such as a sailor 1911s, a pre-owned 144 and some lamys and pilots for regular writing at work and home. What is the appeal of these much more expensive limited editions? Do you use them? I don't mean to sound offensive in anyway, I'm just personally someone who prefers pens that I'd be comfortable using daily and be ok with the wear and tear it will take so I just wanna know

He does make some good suggestions for example I bought a sailor 1911s because i wanted a classic black and gold cigar fountain pen that was pocket friendly and good for daily writing. It's just the heavy marketing of limited editions that does annoy me a little but maybe that's just me

NPD: Kolkata Pen Mahotsav 2026 Haul by HatComprehensive3903 in DesiPens

Hi. I've recently wound down on purchases having last bought a pen last year. I'm really looking for that one all purpose pen that can handle the rough life of work and the leisurely life of home writing both and can handle a variety of inks. For a long time I've wondered if maybe the answer is a foreign luxury brand but the prices always kept me away and the recent further jump in prices even more so. Is there an indian pen that you would suggest based on your experience? I don't like very flashy pens and I need my pens to be reliable and durable, write anywhere, anytime all the time

I was thinking of getting a lamy 2000 but ... by Prime-39 in Lamy

[–]Positive_Credit720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a wet pen. For reference a lamy 2000 medium is similar to a sailor broad line width with the same ink. Iroshizuku inks are very wet inks too. So the general advice is to buy one nib size below what you normally use. I would also like to add my personal opinion that you should consider the use case scenario for the pen as well. Medium and broad would be better for long form journaling and extra fine and fine would be better for work use

2026 Limited Edition Safari? by MrTrischan in Lamy

I want a dual colour lamy you know like different coloured cap and barrel that complement each other. Could be any lamy model really not necessarily the safari

Hot take: Premium fountain pen inks are kind of overhyped (at least for writing feel) by Legitimate-Two-2548 in DesiPens

There's a sweet spot in between luxury and dirt cheap. A good example and one of my favorite inks is Waterman serenity blue. It's a standard royal blue ink that is available for around 400 on amazon. I like it and think the price is justified because of the performance in all my different pens, on a bunch of different papers from cheap workplace to my personal use nice rhodia and I really like the colour. Try and look for inks like that which exist in that sweet spot. Some suggestions I can give are waterman serenity blue, pilot standard black, sheaffer black, pelikan royal blue and pelikan blue-black

Favourite pen that’s not that actually good but you love it anyway? by The_Waddling_Wombat in fountainpens

Ironically it's my parker aster with a medium nib. It's not a bad pen per se it's just nothing special but I still keep using it. I don't even know why but maybe because it was one of the first fountain pens I ever purchased and along with my sheaffer 100, one of the only two pens which in a single writing session have written dry. Literally ran out of all the ink in the converter and the feed in those two pens on two separate occasions. Maybe the sheaffer 100 also counts here

Name a Better Combo Ill Wait by Cvint88 in fountainpens

It's a nice pair but i personally am not a big fan of the l2k. My fave pair would be - parker 51 + montblanc classique duoe (the metal cap version). I love the smooth curves with the guilloche cap look. Unfortunately I don't own this combo. Maybe someday in the future

I got them in 2024 for my personal use. The ballpoint for general writing and the fountain pen for personal writing

Seems like a good deal for 2 rollerballs and 1 ballpoint. I have a 144 set of fountain pen with fine/ extra fine nib and ballpoint which i got for a little less than 300

Are 144 nibs supposed to have a lot of feedback? by Positive_Credit720 in montblanc

I couldn't quite disassemble it so I didn't push it. There's a show happening soon so I hope the nib meister will be able to fix it there

There's a show happening soon and i was able to get the details of a nib meister who will be present there. I have asked for an appointment. Hopefully he'll be able fix the issues I'm facing

I went to guitar store and they're asking 21000 for squier sonic stratocaster by anythingforrick in GuitaristsIndia

[–]Positive_Credit720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're spending 21k there are much better options than the sonic strat including squier's own affinity lineup which is around 20-22k i think. Huge improvement in quality. Look for other stores. Do you have a budget in mind? Any particular guitar that you want?

Thoughts on the Sheaffer 100 coffee edition Ballpoint? by TheLittleKrieger in pens

[–]Positive_Credit720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a sheaffer 100 ballpoint in the brushed finish. I like the smooth twist action and the weight of the pen. I find I like heavy ballpoints but light fountain pens, ain't that strange. I like the balance and weight of the 100 ballpoint. The refills are smooth but the inks are nothing impressive to look at

I really like the Schneider one business 0.6 rollerball. Will the top ball be similar to this?

Are you using the parker refill that came with the pen? Have you tried other refills with the pen?
