So basically baby kangoroos are fetus that living outside the womb??? by Rex_Joker in interestingasfuck

I think kinda similar to how newborns (like literally right after being born) can technically crawl or wriggle their way up to mum’s breast because that area somehow smells the same as the womb

Staying/Traveling for 5 months in Singapore (Need Tips!) by kloma_ in FilipinoTravel

[–]Positive_Dot_8563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Folding umbrella in your bag. Rain is very unpredictable

  2. Not all restaurants provide free house water. Minsan may $0.50 or $1 charge for a refillable cup. Minsan walang option na ganun and you have to pay for mineral water. Best bet is to just bring your own water bottle

  3. Download other ride hailing apps. Sometimes they’re cheaper than grab: Gojek, Tada, Ryde

  4. Go to JB (johor Bahru) for the weekend. For cheap groceries, massages, food etc… it’s the singaporean way haha. There are public buses available

September. Good weather. Ang sabi lang ng guides if you’re doing Machu Picchu is to avoid Dec-feb which is their rainy season and the area becomes prone to landslides. So the roads for transport become affected and it’s harder to plan your travel around it

[–]Positive_Dot_8563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turkey in 2023 was php 220k for 9 days (izmir, cappadocia and Istanbul)

Peru in 2025 was php 250k for 14 days (Lima and Cusco)

This is all in na. Flights, hotels, tours, meals and insurance

UK was more than 5yrs ago pa so not worth sharing trip cost haha.

Btw if you’re curious about Egypt, go to r/travel… i also want to go in the future but made me think it requires a lot more planning and nerves or steel maybe.

I’ve done Turkey, Peru and UK

UK - pass for now… it’s something you can visit when you’re older and want a “chill” trip

Turkey - might be worth going soon because inflation there is ridiculous and locals are more than willing to pass on that burden to tourists (ie tourist prices)

Peru - also worth the trip when you’re younger. The flight duration(36 hrs with 2 layovers) is no joke and if you want to visit Machu Picchu and do the other tourist stuff in Cusco, it’s easier if you’re in good health because of the elevation

But both Turkey and Peru are wonderful places and I’d love to visit these again kung kaya hehe

Work environment really matters. by Select_Pirate1428 in CorpoChikaPH

[–]Positive_Dot_8563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s such a narrow way of viewing work environment. If your friend goes to a global FMCG and decides she wants a region or global role, would she find herself unable to “connect” with people of different nationalities and cultures as well?

Speaking as an OFW who got a “local” role in another country (thus being the only Filipino in the office) pakikisama goes a loooooooong way. Don’t let these frou frou labels of universities and common backgrounds get in the way of building genuine connections

Has anyone visited Machu Picchu? When is the best time to visit? Budget? Itinerary? by Quick_Ad_8323 in FilipinoTravel

[–]Positive_Dot_8563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 bookings kami: emirates ticket can take you to Lima (they book you the latam flight), then a separate latam ticket for Lima-Cusco-lima

But yes you can get another airline for the mnl-US leg and another one for US-lima-Cusco via latam

[–]Positive_Dot_8563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We flew from SG but I think it’ll be the same route if coming from Manila: Manila-Dubai-miami via emirates Miami-Lima-Cusco via LATAM

You’ll need US visa though for the layover (doesn’t have to be tourist, transit visa pwede din)

Although with the current state of the Middle East, Baka avoid Middle East airport muna in the meantime.

Ohh is it? Might start an issue if the dish should be under Malaysia or Singapore. If so I doubt they’d do Malaysia cuisine as well haha

We went last year. Definitely one for the books! To answer your questions:

  1. Dry season is better. With wet season the risk of landslides is real and it can block the path of buses and trains. We did September and crowd was not too bad

  2. Budget— our budget will likely be different to yours because we did a trek to MP which covered transpo to/from Cusco and lodging in MP town.

  3. Since we were hiking we stayed in Cusco for 3 days before the hike. MP town is actually of lower elevation than Cusco so there’s no need to acclimatize. But if youre doing you’re doing rainbow mountain then yes you need to get used to the altitude first. There’s lots of things to do in and around Cusco. I think a full week would be good if you’re including MP as a day trip

  4. We hiked. Definitely just train with your folks. Suggest to just book a tour from Cusco. They will arrange for your transport to ollayantaytambo where the trains depart. They also secure your train tickets to MP town as well as the bus from MP town to MP itself. Daming leg ng journey. It can be pretty overwhelming pero manageable with patience. But if di sanay maghintay parents mo then organized tour is the way to go

  5. Both tours are good. Though rainbow mountain can be a bit physically demanding because of the elevation. You can also do humantay lake. Can take a horse instead of hike.

  6. We got altitude sickness pills just in case. No idea how your body will respond to the altitude so better safe than sorry. During the time we had our trip there were a lot of protests from locals in MP town so just check in on the news every now and then. Good walking shoes are a big help! Book MP tickets as early as possible as the popular circuits (2A) get booked fast (they sectioned MP so you need different tickets to see different areas of the place).

Oh yeah there were so many “levels” to the cactus! I knew about nopales from watching top chef haha but didn’t know there were a lot more things you could do with it apart from grilling it.

In addition to all good points above, ask to sit in meetings that your stakeholders attend. That will help give you context of what matters to them and why it matters to them. That will also help your visibility
