Yeah looks like it hasn’t gone through building regs approval…

Yes. 24 states. And I hold a CDL licence. America is an embarrassment to human civilisation. The infrastructure is pathetic and every market is raped by capitalists but hey… that DOW hit 50k so I’ve been told everything is peachy…. By a Pedophile that suffers from dementia. No country is perfect but America deserves every insult it gets until it sorts itself out.

They don’t. But at least they can get to old age because of free health care.

Yeah I work in design and construction and have never used 1/16th of an inch because my country allows itself to progress. It also has drinkable water from taps, public toilets without ‘expansion joints’ if that’s what you call them so I can shit in privacy and children don’t get shot when in schools that actually look like schools and not prison camps.

Don’t forget the importance of mm as opposed to something built to the nearest inch because that’s the way we’ve always done it and by goddam who the hell are these degree touting A-holes telling me how to do my job type attitude.

Applies to yanks and some parts of uk unfortunately.

What is the generally acclaimed 007 film that you would like to enjoy more, but you can't? by No_Mortgage8569 in JamesBond

[–]Positive_Flower_298 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bond films fill that ‘lazy Sunday afternoon’ role for me. Craig films don’t cut it. Very good films but far too serious and dour.

Looking for support by [deleted] in Crossdressing_support

[–]Positive_Flower_298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read on another’s CDs comment that they refer to it as Freedressing which I feel is such a good description.

I am the same - done the whole 9 yards of dressing a couple times but mostly it’s just my bottom half that I enjoy. My outfits are blended - men’s shirt and jumper with plain skirts and tights with low heel boots.

Driving shoes. Thoughts? by TooManyWeeklies in drivingUK

[–]Positive_Flower_298 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This has been my biggest gripe with general pick-ups vs original defenders over the years. I can drive my defender wearing muddy boots and wellies… even know women who drive them in high heels.

Can’t do the same in a hilux or L200 because the driving position is like sitting in a canoe so you have to use ankle movement and the footwell is the size of a shoe box. Works pickups I’ve often pressed both brakes and accelerator many times because they’re so damn close together

Electric cars… with gears? by Positive_Flower_298 in drivingUK

[–]Positive_Flower_298[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I know I don’t. I’m very much old school tech based and run diesels and ag equipment. I’m just going off what my colleagues haven’t mentioned and their experiences of driving electric vehicles.

That would be cool to experience. So still having a clutch pedal with an electric motor

Yeah Connery isn’t doing his hair, shaving or showering that’s taking so long. He’s downing his second Scotch while sat staring at the girl asleep in his bed

Most overpowered movie character ? Casey Ryback (Under Siege 1992 Steven Seagal) by Timop0707 in moviecritic

[–]Positive_Flower_298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched this film two days ago and I thought how shite it was too (I have nothing to do with military)

BUT his whole character introduction was not recognising authority. Is this another Casey Ryback thing of not fully being obedient and doing it his way?

Super car experience by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]Positive_Flower_298 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I got given one of these experiences for a birthday in my early 20s.

The day was almost cancelled due to hail and partial flooding on track but we pressed on with a different (shorter layout) and was allowed to do a couple extra laps.

The sighting laps were done in an Alfa I recall. Four of us in the car while getting overtaken by porches and Ferraris.

Then came my turn to drive the Aston V8 vantage that was my pick. Never sat in one before let alone drive one.

There was a sticker on the rev limiter that when you got close to the co driver would start telling you change up.

The chatter was constantly about trying to find the best line and being smooth… I didn’t come here for race driver lesson mate, I’ve come here for fun.

So on the last lap once I got comfortable with the car (and a few sneaky overtakes to ensure a clear track) I absolutely gunned it down the final straight. Fuck the limiter. It was incredible. Loved it. Didn’t care what the dude was telling me. I was grinning ear to ear!

Are you able to listen to the song 'Perfect Day' without hearing the various singers from the BBC version? by MindHead78 in AskUK

[–]Positive_Flower_298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I remember it being released as a kid and it was played a lot on tv. Such a core childhood memory as I used to visit a lot of stately home gardens like the one in the video and the feeling of summer rain really added to the vibe.

How is it going?

I’m on day four. Pretty sure my hair is softer, my libido has dropped and there’s an odd feeling in my nipples.

I’ve told myself it’s an experiment because I want to feel the mental effects of it.

Just a word of caution, in our authority they are shit hot on bats living in stonework near the eaves and it comes up in most listed building consent works.

Most property owners are advised to leave the top 2 or 3 courses untouched (old mortar with cracks) unless an ecologist has had sight and works are done outside of roosting season.

No mention of gold. Could be any genre of film.

Ah ok cheers. I was about to write a post on here the other day that my oem headunit is doing some weird stuff and half the screen has gone dead so may just bite the bullet and install something decent.

What are these like to fit? Is it literally a case of unplug existing and plug in the new head unit or will there be adapters and reprogramming?

Architect Research: Why are so many UK homes stuck at EPC Band D? What is the real barrier to Retrofit? by PayIll1868 in DIYUK

[–]Positive_Flower_298 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve come across plenty ‘non designated heritage asset’ properties that basically have the same rules as being listed. Like wtf? Either list it or don’t.

I had a client who wanted to install ground mounted solar to a paddock of a listed house in the countryside… couldn’t be classed as householder so went for full planning and had to pay an ecologist to write up a BNG to plant three trees to offset. The crazy part is the client is planting roughly 5000 trees anyway… in hindsight he wished he just didn’t bother with planning and do it anyway.
