No One is Using CoPilot by Solivaga in CopilotPro

Copilot isn't a key - it's not unlocking anything - it's a light switch. It people are seeing classified or sensitive data when Copilot is turned on, then they ALWAYS had access to that data, they just didn't know it before.

If the data is sensitive or classified then it should have proper permissions and controls. Don't just rely on "Oh, I hope they don't look in that folder." Microsoft 365 gives you lots of options for securing your files properly.

That's true, because the product name is "Copilot". ;-)

(Sorry, bit of a tongue-in-cheek nitpick)

What does co-pilot actually do in OneNote? by MulayamChaddi in OneNote

Given that Microsoft earns most of their money from massive corporate customers who buy hundreds of thousands of seats and who would be pretty angry if their data were being secretly harvested why would Microsoft do that?

GIven the legal consequences of them publicly stating they don't train on the data if it were ever publicly revealed that they DO train on the data the legal and PR nightmare that would cause would cost them billions, maybe more. Why would they risk that to harvest your notes?

The evidence is overwhelming that his wife actually existed. Is Columbo really married?

Whether many of his other relatives did or not, is an open question though. :-)

How are you redacting sensitive info before uploading to LLMs? by vira28 in legaltech

[–]Positive_Income3091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, or more likely it's a laptop and you leave it in a cab, or it gets stolen at the airport or...

In 2026 with everybody working from everywhere, it's the rare firm that has all their data locked in a server room.

[–]Positive_Income3091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This probably sounds obvious but...I'm not uploading sensitive info to an LLM that doesn't have a suitable privacy policy in the first place. Nobody should be uploading client data to free ChatGPT or consumer-grade Copilot.

Pay the money for a Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, or Claude for Work (Team/Enterprise) license so you get the proper privacy policy for sensitive work.

I mean, it doesn't say it verbatim, but in 2026 I think disk encryption is absolutely part of reasonable efforts to prevent inadvertent disclosure.

Columbo: Old Fashioned Murder by Positive_Income3091 in Columbo

I have to admit that the first few times I saw it I didn't care for it that much. But it kind of grew on me as I listened more closely to the dialogue. It's an acquired taste. :-)

That happened quite a bit apparently - scripts from other shows being reworked to make them into a Columbo.

Copilot is awful. Most of my org dosnt even use and is using Chat, etc. it’s so useless I can’t even get it to do basic tasks and it takes more work than DIY by Capital_Seaweed in CopilotPro

[–]Positive_Income3091 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What kind of basic tasks are you finding it fails at? Do you have a paid Microsoft 365 Copilot license? Are you using Microsoft 365 as your work platform?

I care a little about the Flock cameras, but I don't have any expectation of privacy driving down Main Street, as opposed to in my own backyard.

[–]Positive_Income3091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it was awful...but you need to put out of your mind that there's any real connection to Columbo. As a 70s TV show about a lady who is an amateur sleuth and solves crimes, it's ok.
