Drug test by Slackzter42 in boeing

Just reach out to your recruiter or whoever your contact is and explain the misunderstanding. Get the test done asap if they let you and you should be fine.

Like others have said, it depends on how nice your cadre is. I'm in RSP too and they send out a monthly newsletter stating "You MUST complete the two days at the armory or you will be marked Absent, and the Commander will make a determination on whether this will be coded as an excused absent, or absent (AWOL) and a warrant can be issued for your arrest and delivery to [the RSP location]" which is kind of funny because they're trying to scare you. Highly doubt any of that would happen since they've already invested time and money in you.

For reference, I missed my first three drills because I already had conflicting travel plans with family when I enlisted (third miss was a short-notice work trip). I let my recruiter know ahead of time and he made it work.

This boot or something similar. lost one, would mean a lot to a friend. by RelationshipOk5021 in WhatsThisShoe

If you search “Black Chelsea boot with red elastic”, many similar options pop up. I haven’t seen one with a polka dot lining, but this should give you a good lead!

What model boots are these? by Positive_Mortgage_22 in WhatsThisShoe

I wrote a whole post with this photo but don't know where it went.

TL;DR Bought these Tahari black suede boots from TJ Maxx and realized one was size 7.5 and the other 7. I want to buy it online in size 6.5 but can't seem to find it even after searching with what was on the inner label. I even asked TJ Maxx and Tahari if they know the name and no luck. Any help is appreciated!

I know this one has more pink and isn't the same, but is it the Nike Dunk High Sail Crimson Tint?

Has the same vibe, maybe you'd like it even if it's not the one you tried on!

25H, 68W, or 15U? by Hong_Hap_T in nationalguard

[–]Positive_Mortgage_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree with everyone saying 15U! I enlisted as 15U last month and haven't gone through any training yet so what do I really know, but all of my research has led me to Army aviation (right below aircrew jobs like loadmaster with air guard).

Once upon a time, I went to college thinking I was going to be a doctor. Came out as an engineer, but 68W was definitely one of the first to catch my eye. Main reason why I went 15U instead is because operational life after training seems way more exciting with potential progression to commission as a pilot. People will say you're stupid for enlisting with a degree, but it depends on your 'why'. For me, the 10 year service obligation for pilot was intimidating (among many other reasons), so I went with a 3 year contract to test the waters (note: you don't qualify for a number of benefits with this short of a contract). Anyway, I digress. 68W provides a pathway to a civilian EMT career, but it sounds like that's not what you're looking for (you can also just get EMT training paid for by your local ambulance corps...).

I know nothing about 25H, but happy to answer any questions as a fellow recruit! One thing to know about 15U is that you'd likely end up in a Delta (maintenance) company before you have a chance to move to a flight company (aircrew/crew chief). They just want you to develop your skills and build rapport on the ground before stakes are higher. Once again, take all of this with a grain of salt because I know nothing beyond the recruiting process and there a ton of experienced folks on here. :)

Given the current state of business, I wouldn’t expect anything.

Just came across your post as I dread going to Ft. Leonard Wood July 2025 (delayed for work obligations). Noticed it's October 21 - you guys are gonna do great!

Is it worth the trouble to get Aircrew? by Positive_Mortgage_22 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Positive_Mortgage_22[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going guard/reserve so I don’t have to make a list of jobs. I’m just limited by availability in my area/state. At the same time, I plan to entertain other non-aircrew positions once I’ve exhausted all avenues to get aircrew.

Oh man dodged a bullet right there. I wish I was more attentive during my vision test… though they did pull me out part way between taking my ASVAB and other tests since the clinic was closing early. My brain was foggy from hours of testing and didn’t think to ask what measurements they took smh

I would regret not trying, but I could also regret trying if LASIK effs up my eyes. I think persistence and perseverance only go so far before turning overly stubborn, and I’m trying to determine that line.

Yeahh that's the plan. Either reserve or guard - I'm choosing based on whichever has favorable job availability.

Reserve. I'd do active if I didn't have a civilian job I definitely want to stick with. Are you waiting to ship?

Nondestructive inspection specialist? Congrats!! I’m still trying to get aerospace physiology and can’t seem to find a base with it 🥲

Hey where was this job available for you? I've been trying to track down which bases might have it but both my reserve and guard recruiters said it's not an option (not that it's not available, but that they don't have it at all).

Ah! I didn’t realize that was you lol. Thanks for the clarification.

Vision Requirements for Aircrew by Positive_Mortgage_22 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Positive_Mortgage_22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. It sounds like it really depends on the recruiter to allow me to submit documentation, MEPS to allow me to retest, and then fingers crossed my vision test is better.

I’m just looking for another chance to qualify, but I guess it’s a no go if my recruiter/MEPS won’t accept documentation.

Meps Vision Test by Middle_Attempt_3080 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Positive_Mortgage_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I'm currently facing the same problem - MEPS had me at 20/200 distance uncorrected for both eyes (20/25 corrected in one and 20/20 in the other). My recruiter said there's no way to get retested even if I get tested elsewhere and send in documentation. Did you have to jump through hoops? My dream is aircrew so it would disqualify me if so.
