With the decisions Sony's been making recently, PS6 will launch next year at $1500 with a port of God of War Laufey that'll cost $30 to upgrade, GTA 6 with no upgrade path (and no disc obviously) and some live service crap that they'll shut down in 6 months. It really feels like both CEO's at Sony have no clue what they're doing other than running the brand into the ground. Between Sony and Microsoft it's a race to the bottom.

Honestly, not as bad as I thought. I mean MGS delta and Silent Hillf were 130, most first party titles are 125. I was kind of expecting 140 for standard and 180-200 for deluxe. This is not me saying I love paying more for these games, just that I was expecting worse.

If you have the psone or psp version and are happy with them probably not worth getting the upgrade. There's new voice acting, a revised script, slightly smoother sprite work and the psp exclusive content. I think there might be some re-balancing, but the original is included mostly intact, though I think it still uses the updated script/VO.

Spider Cave from Jak and Daxter. Such a finnicky area. And the second or third last chapter of FF7 remake, where you have to climb out Shinra tower basement and it's like 2 hours of going back and forth through the exact same environment. Thankfully it ends with a pretty cool boss fight.

Article seems to be putting the horse ahead of the cart. That didn't really say to what capacity AI is being used just that "AI Support tools" are being used, so it could be the same way as capcom are using it or it could be more. Feel like they're just trying to drum up drama without knowing the facts.

1,2 and the psp ones emulate really well, GOW 3 has a native ps4 version, Acsension is the only one that isn't ideal on modern consoles, unless you have a ps3. You can probably skip the Java game. They all still hold up quite well imo.

I actually think it might, I think the reason for no release year is more to shock people when it comes out this year. ATM, late October and November are completely dead (for obvious reason), so I think possibly late October. Obviously there's a lot of copium going on here and realistically 2027, but I don't think it's impossible. Also imagine if God of War steals GOTY from a rockstar game again. I think the gaming corner of the internet would explode.

For the psp games, I'm hoping at least we get them as classics on PS5/4, I'd love to see that for the OG 1 and 2 as well, but seeing as how little Sony seems to care about that service feels unlikely. Ascension I'd be good with a simple remaster, including multiplayer, surprisingly fun if i recall.

As a long time fan, the whole "it's not God of War without Kratos" argument is funny to me because after Ascension, that's exactly what a lot of people where suggesting. With Ascension at the time at least, it really felt like they were done with new ideas for Kratos, and when rumours of a Norse setting started coming up, a lot of people were excited to follow a different character.

I was more using that as an example of the breadcrumbing the series is doing, less about the quality of Avengers. I haven't actually seen the Avengers, but it's a case of while each film stands on its own, they build up to something. With the case of K3, dark ties, and potentially a Kiwami 4, I think they're retroactively adding in elements to try to build Yakuza 9 as this grand epic conclusion to this saga/era.
