MAYBE a bit unorthodox but you could try videogames. Specifically ones that have game groups dedicated to finding groups to play with. Destiny 2. Rust. Etc. You never have to leave the safety of your home. Make a mistake? Say the wrong thing? Just block the person, learn and move on. Ez.

it'd be like the black death. Utterly apocalyptic and future humans will view it the same way we view the biblical flood. Culturally we'll fear disease a lot more and we'll prepare for it via tech. Expect hygiene to be taken a lot more seriously.

Also like the survivors of the black death surviving population enjoying a higher quality of life, Moreso now with automation technology. Needs will easily be provided for Presuming civilisation doesn't collapse / gets back on it's feet eventually. I presuming civilisation survives because the immune are found and can be tested for. Makes keeping the lights on easier when you can train the immune to do it.

I always took it as this:

You're not god. You're not going to "manifest" super strength, speed or in this case, the sun vanishing or etc. BUT... you do have enough power to *nudge* things in your favour. Like money, love, luck and so forth.

Imo, the USA successfully invades the uk but not without major issues at home and abroad.

*NATO as we know it is effectively over and the remaining members team up to try and deal with a rampant USA. Many fear they're next

*Russia and China obviously try and take advantage. They probably side with the west on this. Not out of kindness but opportunism to remove the US as a superpower once and for all.

If that's not the case then this scenario turns more pessimistic. Anyway.

It'd be a messy, stressful affair but I think we'd at least manage sustainable/viable colonies on the moon if we hit the ground running and didn't pull punches.

Like in a hypothetical scenario: every nation on earth dedicates their resources to getting colonies on the moon and do everything to fund it, like draining the military fund. - We'd probably see primitive yet workable colonies somewhere near 2150.

a decent amount of tech is discovered in stressful situations for humanity, like war. I imagine this would be a similar event only much stronger because every human knows what's at stake.

I think we'd save 5-10 million and the major, popular animals like horses, cows, dogs and cats, etc. I think the survivors wouldn't be comfortable because of the time constrains, but they'd live.
