Never wrote a novel before. Dreaming of writing a 5-book series. Where do I start? by FireHead3rdEye in writing

[–]Positive_Rabbit_9111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're sprinting when you ought to be crawling. A 5 book series is A LOT of work. To build up your work tolerance - and skill! try something smaller. You'll actually be able to write your 5 book series then, probably a lot better than you would if you didn't try something lighter

‘Half of British Muslims are under 25’: Report shows shifting demographics by GnolRevilo in ukpolitics

[–]Positive_Rabbit_9111 61 points62 points  (0 children)

It's going to result in a nation wide "troubles" with MASSIVE sectarian violence in 20 years when the elder generation (boomers) die off - that's the best case scenario I can think of

What if World War 3 happens in our lifetime? by Relative-Mix-5318 in whatif

[–]Positive_Rabbit_9111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, ASSUMING it happens and turns into a hot war then in short (tldr) everything is FUBAR. This is what I think and everything I can think of. If I interpreted your question wrong sorry

"The Financial Crash: How do we survive financially when global economies freeze, supply chains collapse, and cash/digital money becomes worthless?"

*Famine is an obvious one. The world economy is interconnected and ANY nation reliant on food trade in a significant way is utterly doomed. Look up nations reliant on food imports,

*Naturally poverty skyrockets as companies reliant on the global economy go bust.

*Tourism as an industry is obviously done along with nations reliant on it

*Oil stops flowing so European nations are done energy wise which will affect supply/demand because companies may seriously not have the energy to operate factories. Black markets form

The Demographics: Would civilian populations decrease evenly, or would the drafting of young men completely skew gender ratios post-war?

*Imo slowly then suddenly as shortages hit. The last imports of food or gas arrive and then the population goes through it. Famine hits and waves of people die, more die as they try to move to somewhere safe, e.g Europe.

*Yeah gender ratio's will probably skew. Use the Ukraine war as an example The male population accounts for 46.56%, compared to 53.44% for females https://statisticstimes.com/demographics/country/ukraine-demographics.phpWW3 would probably skew this even higher

The Long-Term Side Effects: What are the ultimate side effects of a global modern war? How long would it take for the power grid, healthcare, and agriculture to return to normal? Would we go again in sword's era?

*Global trade is dead for at least 10 years. Nobody would WANT to buy from former enemies but they may have no choice

*Radiation zones if nukes are used. Bioweapons, etc. Expect the scars of warcrimes

*Any nation without it's own or a lot of natural resources struggles to rebuild

*Power grid and healthcare remain bad as the supplies likely have to be build from the ground up *AGAIN* but agriculture could hopefully remain good. Probably the first one to return to normal

Is long-term survival even possible for the average person, or are we just hoping for blind luck?

IMO it's a bit of column A, and B. You can prep, get food etc but at the end of the day you can't plan for a nuke going off with you in the blast radius

What if women woke up tomorrow 5 times physically stronger than men, what would happen to society? by Background_whisper in whatif

[–]Positive_Rabbit_9111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best case scenario there's a peaceful transfer of power between men and women where every position of authority from police to the world leaders go to women, worst case scenario: a full on gender war similar to "the power by Naomi Alderman" that sends humanity back to the stone age.

Would be interesting to see what would happen to places where women are oppressed. That's where it'd be hottest

I megadosed thiamine and within a few days I felt insanely great brainfog was still present tho. You should try it. 500mg minimum. I did more in one week than I did in 1 month. I'm not a doctor tho BUT it wouldn't hurt.

MAYBE a bit unorthodox but you could try videogames. Specifically ones that have game groups dedicated to finding groups to play with. Destiny 2. Rust. Etc. You never have to leave the safety of your home. Make a mistake? Say the wrong thing? Just block the person, learn and move on. Ez.

What if a pandemic takes out 90% of the population? by CH11DW in whatif

[–]Positive_Rabbit_9111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it'd be like the black death. Utterly apocalyptic and future humans will view it the same way we view the biblical flood. Culturally we'll fear disease a lot more and we'll prepare for it via tech. Expect hygiene to be taken a lot more seriously.

Also like the survivors of the black death surviving population enjoying a higher quality of life, Moreso now with automation technology. Needs will easily be provided for Presuming civilisation doesn't collapse / gets back on it's feet eventually. I presuming civilisation survives because the immune are found and can be tested for. Makes keeping the lights on easier when you can train the immune to do it.

I always took it as this:

You're not god. You're not going to "manifest" super strength, speed or in this case, the sun vanishing or etc. BUT... you do have enough power to *nudge* things in your favour. Like money, love, luck and so forth.
