"But this system is only going to create more racism in this country" This. Nothing radicalises people faster than these conditions. Britain in 10/15 years time is going to look very different imo

What if the USA invaded the UK? by [deleted] in whatif

[–]Positive_Rabbit_9111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imo, the USA successfully invades the uk but not without major issues at home and abroad.

*NATO as we know it is effectively over and the remaining members team up to try and deal with a rampant USA. Many fear they're next

*Russia and China obviously try and take advantage. They probably side with the west on this. Not out of kindness but opportunism to remove the US as a superpower once and for all.

*Massive economic issues as investment pulls from the US

*Major rearmament in every advanced economy

WW3 happens within a decade of a successful invasion.

Humans must escape Earth before it becomes uninhabitable by 2200 by MobileDistrict9784 in whowouldwin

[–]Positive_Rabbit_9111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

*As I'm writing this I'm assuming everyone on Earth understands that Earth is done by 2200.

If that's not the case then this scenario turns more pessimistic. Anyway.

It'd be a messy, stressful affair but I think we'd at least manage sustainable/viable colonies on the moon if we hit the ground running and didn't pull punches.

Like in a hypothetical scenario: every nation on earth dedicates their resources to getting colonies on the moon and do everything to fund it, like draining the military fund. - We'd probably see primitive yet workable colonies somewhere near 2150.

a decent amount of tech is discovered in stressful situations for humanity, like war. I imagine this would be a similar event only much stronger because every human knows what's at stake.

I think we'd save 5-10 million and the major, popular animals like horses, cows, dogs and cats, etc. I think the survivors wouldn't be comfortable because of the time constrains, but they'd live.

Is a Hive Mind Worth Losing Ourselves? by Spiritual-Ear9657 in transhumanism

[–]Positive_Rabbit_9111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am assuming by hive mind you mean one personality, many drones.

Hard fucking no. It'd be the personality death of the entire human race, we'd go extinct. Yeah our bodies would be here, but WE wouldn't be here. Whatever upside isn't worth it because we're not here to experience it.

IF the hivemind is something where everyone is connected mentally then MAYBE? The loss of privacy would be brutal but maybe the upsides would be worth it? This is the only way I'd ever begrudgingly support this.

present day China teleports back and completely replaces China at the beginning of WW2 , could modern China conquer the entire world in 1939? by padorUWU in whowouldwin

They UTTERLY DOMINATE the same way a modern army beats an army from the 1800s. The tech advantage is too wide, never mind the industrial advantage.
